In all fairness, I think we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves and making presumptions on what the new mechanic does based on what we're hearing/seeing. We haven't used it yet hands on... Let's wait for the game to launch and use this ourselves before jumping the gun and saying this was a dumb move... because if there's one thing I know, it's SCEA doesn't implement things into the game until they're satisfied it's going to work for one, and two.. that it makes sense.

Did you happen to see any fans catch a HR and or foul ball? Also did you see a fan pick up a foul ball over the railing? And last did you see the ball boy and or first and third base coaches flip a ball to a fan and did he actually catch it?

        I remember that well!

          Not really gameplay related.

Yeah, it is very difficult to explain how things feel.

I am more than likely wrong on this, mostly due to I haven't look up on the new analogs but if this system is any thing like what 2k did towards the end of there development, this system is too give you a little more control when batting with analog. for example the way 2k had it was you pushed UP on the right stick for a normal swing, for a power swing you push DOWN and then UP, and if you pressed LEFT or RIGHT was a contact swing that was used as a safety hit, to foul off balls close to the strike zone. I actually kind of like that control scheme because with that game there was too many times you miss and strike out on close pitches.

New analog hitting is virtually if not identical to the 2k analog. I know more than enough to know I don't want it at the expense of the old one. And this totally falls into the realm of removing features.

Has anything been done with the pci while using zone hitting?
I.e made it harder to strike out.
because in 14 it is damn near impossible to strike out more than 5 times a game.

I second this. I had to drop my timing slider to 0 in order to get realistic strikeout numbers, and that really isn't ideal.

I could be mistaken here, but I thought I read in the thread they got rid of the PCI? I'm not 100% sure on that though.

                        PCI removed for timing?

Only you guys can determine if adjustments made help this. I can't really answer this for you.

I'm sure we will see more on this, and how it's been implemented into gameplay, during the presentation (think player's emotions) stream.

Anyway, probably a little off-topic... sorry.
Speaking of Real Time vs. cutscenes, does the game render all animations completely this year or will the game always jump to the players in the ready position?

What I mean is: Two years ago all of the animations between pitches always played out fully (other than with the exception of some foul balls). Last year, the game took a major step back and abruptly had the players back to being ready for the next pitch (whether we hit X or not).

And this was even with full counts, full/not quick presentation on, etc.

Has this been changed for 15?

There is still a PCI, for timing it does not show up.
