Does the catcher still slide on his knees or hamstrings every time there is a pitch that gets away from him? Does he still continually turn his back to the infield on pop outs hit behind home plate? It's a little thing but something that always bugged me in the game. Not sure if you would have noticed this in your time with the game, but figured I would inquire.

    Thanks.
Was there an answer to mine that I missed somewhere?

Also, if a pitcher gets injured can we bring in a reliever now and warm him up on the mound?

Can you speak more to the challenge system in the game? Do we see a replay or go from the call on the field? What sorts of things are challengeable in the game? Will it be obvious when we should challenge the play and is this a feature that can be toggled on/off?

How did the cut-off feature work in your minds? Was it pretty solid or did you think it still needed some fine tuning?

    Thanks.

were balls/strikes more consistent, sure a small sample size, but last year would see instances where ball completely in zone called a ball??

      • One major problem with this game is the strike zone. Even if you go in the settings so that “all balls and strike calls are made perfectly,” many of the calls are still incorrect. The pitch track will show that the ball caught the strike zone but it was still called a ball anyway. This has been a problem since the beginning of the series. The entire ball DOES NOT need to be in the strike zone for it to be a strike.
Our strike zone logic is based on 50% of the ball being inside the strike zone for a called strike. With variable umpires this varies and there was a bug last year on the on screen display for where the ball actually landed. That issue has been fixed.

How is the hit variety? I would like to see more bloopers and choppers in play.

Thought for sure that was going to go back to how it was for all the previous versions of the game.

Can't say I am not disappointed in that design decision again.

I left notes for this very subject. There needs to be wide strikes called. There were fringe calls but I would like to see pitches entirely just outside the zone be called strikes as well sometimes.

The cutoff feature works well, I used it several times. I don't like where the OSD is located on screen and I think it flashes too quick. The display shows at the top of the screen, it needs to come down to be seen better and stay on the screen longer. It works very well though and as they mentioned in the stream the situation has to be right for it to happen.

Question about pitch effectiveness when using the slide step.

Will we notice a drop in velocity when it is used?

                      Ramone's already confirmed yes.

                          No.

Once the count is generated. Even if you sub in a relief pitcher (unless he was scheduled to start the next inning) the count is inherited.

I just want to know if the blue circle in auto fielding but manual throwing has been removed.
                          Thanks Armor.

But I'm not asking about a new count being generated when a pitcher is brought in mid-inning (which was how Ramone addressed this previously). I'm asking about the bug where the new pitcher wasn't being credited with the AB's results.

ETA: I guess it's maybe a matter of perspective so on second thought "bug" was the wrong word. In my "Quick Counts Fantasy" the new pitcher is the one who got the new count, not the one being subbed. I guess I can see how others would view this as a pitcher being subbed out mid-at bat. But that rarely happens in the real MLB so I was hoping this was addressed or could be looked in to.

Double ETA: Wait a second. LOL! What is the official MLB rule on the pitcher of record for a pitching change made mid-at-bat? If the pitcher that ends the at bat gets the credit, then the game had it wrong last year any way but I honestly have no clue!

Can we still use Zone Hitting with Buttons? How will that work with Directional hitting?

I believe Directional is another option, mutually exclusive from Zone. You cannot do both.

From what i understand from the stream, Directional hitting is only for Timing ? So can you use timing online now because its kind of changed.
