As of right now there is not, there is a possibility there will be an option when the game ships.

Has there been any changes to the throwing meters? Also, are we still going to get locked into animations? The one that is highly annoying is the one where you get locked in animation and cannot charge a bleeder and are forced to wait for the ball to get to you.

The throwing meters have not changed.

Animations feel very different, I feel the pace has a lot to do with it along with the addition of new ones. It almost feels like their portfolio so to speak is more complete on how to perform a function. If you did happen to get stuck in an odd animation it was more a rarity then the norm.

          1. I noticed that more things are hidden now like CPU pitch selection. I see you can press R2 to show it but is there also an option to always have it shown so you do not need to keep hitting R2 to show the CPU pitch selection?

          2. Also where did that little box that shows your last pitch location and type of swing "Late, Early" go?

          3. Does the chalk lines disappear again though out the game?

Probably all still there, this was just the setup they played with I guess.

I did not check if there was an option to have the cpu's pitch selection up permanently. I like the cleaner screen so I did not really investigate.

All that shows up in the center of the zone, you cycle it by using the left and right d-pad buttons.

              3. Does the chalk lines disappear again though out the game?

They were not when we were there. But I believe it was being looked at.

              Answers in bold.

That is very good to hear!

Speaking of animations...are there any new ones for the outfielders in terms of diving for catches, lunging/stretching out, and sliding? Can/will you see sno-cone catches?

Also is the animation where the fielder runs past the ball and catches it behind him (hope you know which one i'm talking about) been removed or at least toned down?

                  1. To add to what Nem said, it is still there. I'm not sure what the default is, but it is an option to show or not. I know the majority of the CD crew plays "clean screen", including Ramone. I would guess that ON is the default.

                  2. What Nem said.

                  3. They were not, but I lost count of how many times and how many people I brought it up to. Just know, they are aware of it, lol.

Lol, I know exactly what animation you're talking about! I did NOT see it, so things are looking good in that regard. I think this was another inherent fix due to the animation tweaking and animation "window" tightening.

Yes, there were a few new catch, gather, size up and throwing animations I saw for the outfielders. The one thing to realize is that there were a LOT of animations that never played prior to this year, just because the animation speed & branching needed tweaking. Another is the infielder overrunning the grounders in the middle infield... seems to be fixed. I realized how prevalent both were when I returned home to MLB 14.

Can anyone expand on the new tag/sliding animations? Are we going to see better "take out" slides at second base?

Also in regards to slides, is their better base to player recognition? It seemed quite often last year that a player would slide, mostly feet first, and his feet/legs would be touching the base but if tagged before his buttocks hit the bag then he was out.

Are fielders still hurling the ball at each other at 100mph from 10 feet away (like one poster said)? Or are throws more relaxed when there is no play happening?
