Re: MLB 15 The Show (Community Day Gameplay Q&A Thread)
You said gameplay was slowed down, but are there still animations that take so long to develop that it can cause a runner to be safe? There were times last year where a routine groundball to short would be a base hit because it took the fielder too long to get rid of the ball.Comment

I'm sure nemesis can reply, but I believe even in the fact sheet it mentioned that this has been cleaned up, where the animations are more closely related to the situation they are appropriate for. (IE, no longer getting the casual throw animation when a speedy runner is running to first). Let's hope this is true. You said gameplay was slowed down, but are there still animations that take so long to develop that it can cause a runner to be safe? Might as well drop the bomb, there is no swing influence in the game anymore. Actually it has been disconnected for some time apparently. We all were having a dose of Placebo for the past few years.Last edited by nemesis04; 02-06-2015, 12:55 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

This is annoying. There should be a way to preload directional hitting for those of us who use zone so that we can take advantage of situational hitting situations (avoid dp, sac fly).
What is the point of making directional hitting only on timing only?Comment

I am primarily a analog batting guy, but I tinker with the other options from time to time. If Im not mistaken, I saw that you can use analog with timing this year. Timing is my preferred secondary batting option.
Nem, did you try this option at all or have any input on exactly how it works?Comment

I guess we can pretend that it still exists!

lol, true.
I suppose in the scheme of things it maintains a certain balance between hitting modes, because if you get really good at zone hitting it's easy to generate unrealistically good offense compared to timing (which is much more stat based), so to compensate they let timing have more control over situational hitting.Comment

The basic analog in the game was really only timing. You were using a stick instead of buttons. Analog was being worked on so I did not get much play time with it.I am primarily a analog batting guy, but I tinker with the other options from time to time. EDIT: the analog mechanic has changed, please see my post below on how it works now.Last edited by nemesis04; 02-06-2015, 01:22 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Is the traditional Zone plus analog still an option? If it is, has it been altered?Comment
