    Weather Historical Data

So I have written a script to go through Weather Underground of each Major League City and collect the weather for each day throughout the year during the day (roughly 1 hour intervals).

The code finished for January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2014.

All times are local and all temperatures are fahrenheit.

I can only post some files here but I sent the rest off.

I have to go to baseball practice but when I get back this evening I'll post results (or find a way to get them to Knight) if it's done.

Just leaving this thread here as a placeholder.

Bp....this sounds great!....does it automatically compile so that we can just grab say 1PM and 7 PM. .....and get that data to SCEA.

Yeah. It'll be a table with the months across the top and the time down the left side (1hr intervals for all 24 hours). I can then set the year range (2010-2014, or just 2014 if they wanted),

You would probably be interested in the 7-8 pm and 1-2 pm intervals but all 24 hours will be there. And there is one table per city.

This sounds awesome! I am a bit of a weather geek and I've always been annoyed by having random rainy games in Oakland in July. That just does not happen. Ever.

            Re: Weather Historical Data

Wish that we could choose the exact time of day and temperature as well during our franchise.

Some of us like to play a few days behind the real schedule and try to replicate the actual lineups and conditions of the game that was played with different on field results based off of our managerial and stick skills.

One day it is my hope that we can set it up to control one team and have it so that all the sim stats for the non-user played games are authentic to that of what is actually going on during the real MLB season.

So unfortunately my internet skipped a beat while I was gone so the program crashed. I got the first 4 cities done (attached as samples) and it's started up again and working.

I can email or attach the excel spreadsheet when it's done.

The game needs to add an option for players in the editor for long sleeves in the cold (yes or no).

Is this so that SCEA can add realistic weather patterns into later versions of MLB TS?

Absolutely. That would solve most of the major gripes.

Yeah, except what is "cold"? Instead, it seems you would need something where it says "Will wear sleeves when temperature is less than XXX" that you could set.

The way the temps run in this game every night game is cold so that option of yes or no would solve the problem of having long sleeves.

No it wouldnt solve it completely. If you set it to no then every single game would be no long sleeves. That may be fine for games in Texas, Florida and Cali for example. But what about KC, Minnesota, Chicago? I dont want to have to keep changing it every few games. Being able to set the temp is probably never gonna happen. So getting the temps right in game and lowering the temp for when sleeves are worn is the way to solve it.

So don't we or SCEA need to come to a consensus as to what sleeve/jacket weather is?

I say 60 and below is a nice round number.
