re downloading 14 is reminding me how ****ty Sony's servers are. It shouldnt take 30 minutes to download 5GB with these speeds.

Keep pausing and starting the download, it will open up and download in a few minutes. I have no idea why it works but it does.

Ok thinking back I think it was 40 gig. I am getting the PS3 version confused with the ps4, I remember now the ps4 version was almost 24 hours late, and in Australia I woke up the next morning and seen that finally it was up on PSN so I left it downloading when I went to work and then came back home it was done, so I never really played a game while it was downloading because it did everything in 1 hit.

so yeah sorry memory is fuzzy on this one getting it mixed with the ps3 that was the only that took me 4 hours lol

I really can't remember it being 40 gig I had it downloaded in 4 hours last year no way could I download 40 gig that fast now.. the PS3 was about 16 gig, as I said I am pretty certain it was about 24 gig then when installed it was 40+ gig, it was split into 2 parts too about 13 gig each. then there was the manual another separate download

It downloads the first 5GB then you can launch the game and play as the two WS teams while it downloads the remaining teams and modes.

Yep you were right, my bad. I never got to play the game after the first 5 gig because I was at work, I remember now what happened the game was delayed by a good 17 hours, so I had to wait till the next day after work.

Pre Loading will solve this problem this year.... but.... if you can play the game after 5 gig this year that wouldn't happen because pre loading would be 2 days before the release date correct? so it's kinda pointless now to be able to play the WS teams while it's downloading. unless thats for installing?

Ive heard after the preload you still have to install once the game goes live. I didnt think you had to so idk which is true. But yes the initial downlaod before you can play wont matter for preloads unless you have to install.

When I get done with a game I can usually just get 10 dollars for trading it in so it's not really that big of a deal for me. Going digital or physical they will both take up the same amount of space on your HDD. I have started just buying digital since I can pre-load the entire game and play right at midnight.

I've gotten pretty good trade in deals ..especially when I started dealing with BB and their 100% extra deals.
Add that to the fact I can get the disk copy for 48.00 (or collectors ed for 55.00) and no way I go digital.
I will never go digital for sports games anyways and won't go many digital until there's a financial gain to do so to offset the lack of trade in ability.

It's fine for those that say they never trade game's in though..

I can vouch for this. I have Cox internet and when my download starts to slow down, I pause it for a few seconds then restart it and it really speeds up.

Might be completely due to their silly "Powerboost" thing (speeds up the first 90 seconds of a big download) and I'm just fooling it, but it works.

Can we get the special edition via digital? Of course this is assuming we won't get that special steel book and cover. I'd like to play at midnight and avoid the hassle of changing discs, but I still think the perks of the special edition is worth the extra 10 bucks.

I still haven't bought into the whole digital delivery system yet. Developers are differently milking that path for extra profits. If I was still in high school or college, maybe I'd go with it because of the whole midnight thing. That being said, these games are never discounted. There are so many games, especially sports, where any Gamestop or Target sells it for $40 already and digitally it's still $60.

Also, has it been confirmed that it's midnight per your location? If it is midnight pacific, there will be a lot of unhappy east coast people. Also, there was no technical issues last year. PSN just doesn't update its store until later in the day.

It's Midnight your time. (Or even Midnight Eastern so West Coast people luck out). I will say my confirmation email for this said the expected play start time was 3/30 at 10PM.

actually it was technical problems because Sony admitted it and apologized and gave us all a $10 gift, which was great from them.

Yepp. Some games (at that point in time) came out at midnight and some had to wait until the store updated. 14 was supposed to launch at midnight but there were issues. Now majority can be preloaded and it doesnt matter. And it is supposed to come out at midnight EST.

unless the pre load gets delayed or soemthing or it's gets delayed when it's suppose to work at midnight.
