Re: Stadium Lighting

Just to make sure it is understood that the work they implemented last year was fantastic, they absolutely nailed AT&T Park in San Francisco and Target Field.

The neon Coke Bottle and scoreboard clock in AT&T was perfect. I still like to play exhibition games at both of those parks just because they feel so real.

I thought Dodger Stadium was pretty good too (I know some have posted structural inconsistencies).

Playing sunny day games at both Pittsburgh and San Diego is cool too as there is so much there visually.

Really hoping they have another Cathedrals video like they did for '14 showing all of the ballpark enhancements.

I think the 4th of July lighting is about right. Maybe a little more lit up than usual but pretty close.

This picture is off though, unlife-like . Maybe HDR or just EXTREMELY high exposure. You can tell by how unnatural the coloring is and by how intense and thick the ringing is around lights. Or just look at the sky. It's glowing! Haha

I have been asking Sony to fix the citizens bank park liberty bell since MLB 07 The Show PS3 version came out and as of 14 it's still not accurate. So don't expect it to be fixed for 15 either

Same for a few LED boards in right field which are still not accurate as of 14. And I sent Sony info about this also around the time MLB 07 The Show came out. So for what ever reason at least for citizens bank park these items don't seem to be to important to fix for Sony.

Pittsburgh's skyline is often lit up and easy to see as a spectator while seated inside PNC Park. That doesn't translate to TV and pictures, however. The amount of light taken in by a camera lens has an effect on the city as a backdrop because the main light focus is in the foreground and is the stadium lighting. The ambient lighting effect darkens out the skyline as a result.

That being said, MLBtheShow makes it seem pitch black, which it is not. At the very least their should be some lights that can be seen, even if it is faintly, and as the camera pans to the outfield they should become more apparent. I know that they cannot get the rights to the names on the tall buildings downtown due to licensing, and I don't wish to have them all say something like "The Show" as a workaround, but there needs to be some sort of lights that represent these signs to make the city seem more alive.

That, and the pointed building on the left has uplighting that changes colors based on temperature and will flash for homeruns and other features.

I would also love for the Clemente Bridge to have the blue lights on it and for there to be some boat traffic in the river. There is a constant flow of boats when the weather is nice with the Gateway Clipper Fleet of ferries delivering passengers to the stadium and sounding their horns even. Plenty of air traffic, too. Helicopters, planes, birds, etc.

Agree about the lights on the Clemente Bridge. Been to a single game at PNC back in 2001 and I definitely recall noticing the blue lights on the left field concourse and the Clemente Bridge.

I wonder if we're getting a stadium stream, curious to see if Safeco has the new LED lights and (old, circa 2012) LED ribbon boards.

Russell said that we will be getting a stadium stream at some point.

                    Re: Stadium Lighting

If Russell confirmed that there will be a dedicated stream for Stadiums, then I imagine they've finished the parks that weren't completed in MLB '14 and have added some new stuff for this season.

REALLY hoping that all of the parks received attention with regards to the neon signs.

Those pics of Petco Park and Dodger Stadium, though both in the daytime, are photo-realistic.

You literally would be hard pressed to distinguish between the game and reality if they weren't labeled.

                      Re: Stadium Lighting

Gotta say, between watching the stream last night with PNC Park at night and some of the shots in the Summer Wind trailer, it seems like they've done a ton of work on the ballparks.

Much of the lighting in each ballpark we've seen thus far has looked great, including the neon effects seen.

Was really excited to see the blue lights on the concourse at PNC Park along with the white glow coming from the "PNC Park" sign atop the scoreboard.

The early morning/dusk shot of right field at Wrigley had the red sign lit up which really "popped".

This is exactly what I was hoping for in this year's iteration of the game. Really makes the ballparks come to life.

REALLY excited to see night games at Busch, Safeco, Fenway, Comerica and Progressive.

In the past, I've made a couple comments here and there in the Stadium Feedback threads. Following the release of MLB The Show '15 and getting a chance to see what the SDS team was able to accomplish this year, will definitely add A LOT of photos and suggestions for MLB The Show '16:

                          Fenway Park (Citgo sign):
The cool thing about the Citgo sign is how it is illuminated differently at given times (ie: white portion of sign is sometimes lit up in neon and sometimes it is not):

                          Coors Field (Rockies Sign):
This sign just needs to be outlined in neon purple with white neon dots around the clock:

Coors actually has a brand new scoreboard this year.

Doesn't look like that when inside the stadium looking out though, because of the ambient light.

Not saying that they have it correct in game, but your photo doesn't represent what it looks like from inside the stadium either is all.
