To the Devs in the crowd...

I don't know if this has been talked about for a while but I figured that with the upcoming season this may actually be very pertinent... As we all known Pat Venditte is a switch pitcher, and as we all know Venditte plays for the A's now who, to say it nicely but bluntly, will call up pretty much anybody they think gives them the slightest edge. So I feel like there is a great chance that Venditte and all of his switch pitching glory will see some MLB time this year... has this game been prepared for the likes of a switch pitcher? If he shows up in the MLB this year have you guys talked or worked on anything to get switch pitching in next year?

I know this has been talked about before but with a guy that's on the cusp of breaking into the show I felt like it'd be a good time for an official statement.

If this has been brought up recently or answered ever feel free to put me in the stocks, throw stones, and delete this thread!

It's a valid question and I'm wondering how they're gonna handle it too.

A word of advice though, be careful with "Hey devs" threads on OS. It's better to start a topic called Venditte - Switch Pitcher & The Show instead of making a thread calling out devs for an official statement.

I wouldn't look for it in 15. If Venditte makes the bigs at some point in 2015 & plays a significant amount of time AND makes a significant contribution to the Yanks, and does the same in 2016, maybe we would see this implemented by the time Show 17 hits the streets. If scea took the time time to make left-handed 2b, ss, & 3b players possible, then it's my opinion they would do the same for switch pitchers. But I don't think it would be anywhere near a priority on scea's part.

He plays for the A's now ghost.

I'd say if he makes the majors at all then SCEA has some obligation to themselves and the game (and maybe the players Union even?) to get him in asap. The player models are easy enough. The tough part is probably programming in the mechanic of allowing him to switch sides at the players choice or the easier route would be to automate it by match up.

Thanks! I didn't even realise that.
Considering he'll be 30 this year, his window to even make the Show is getting smaller by the minute.

Again, he's with the A's this year, with their analytics and outside the box mentality you know that dude has at least a good 60-70% of being called up this year if not more. He's never had bad number in the minors... But as Mabster said, SCEA has an obligation to make this game as true to life as possible, if Venditte makes it to the show this year (or next) and he's in the game as just a righty or just a lefty it wouldn't be an accurate depiction of the man, or how the game is played by him.

Yep....Venditte has been in the minor leagues for 7 yrs with the Yanks but signed with the Oakland as a free agent during the off season. He had good stats for the 2014 AAA season and Joe Girardi always had positive comments about Pat.

It would be a great story if Venditte can make the A's MLB roster and contribute to the bullpen.
