Re: MLB 15 The Show Livestream - Franchise Improvements, Inside the Radio Show & More
Really digging the radio show, especially because it really is just a background feature so I can do other stuff meanwhile. I swear, I always watched the SportsCenter show on ESPN NFL 2K5, no matter how redundant it may have ever seemed. Just awesome to have that kind of presentation. It might get a little iffy hearing some of the nicknames too much of cities and team names, but a first year effort is a great one indeed! Digging how he acknowledges some of the really small things.
Also, I don't get why [was it Kirby?] said it was a little overcast at 37:18. I thought that was what the dusk sky looked like. If they have a different one that I haven't seen, I'd love to check it out! But if I remember correctly, they chose the clear skies option before starting that Yankees game.
This game impressively only took strides in the right direction this year, and sports games don't always do that. There are some options here I don't/won't use that I'm seeing used a lot, but that's all what is great about this game. I'm also appreciative of an 11:00 and 4:00 start time option. I'm guessing Sunday Night Baseball games on the west coast will utilize the 4:00 option and they'll use 11:00 on Patriots' Day for the Red Sox.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Uh, they totally exist, man. In video games. It's fairly basic relationship stuff. Good things happen, loyalty points go up. You might use systems that are already in place to do it, too, including fluid progression of loyalty over time using the player skill progression system. You probably just have to figure in the computational load, and hope that system isn't completely, irreversibly hardcoded to measure only certain aspects.Last edited by Grub; 02-28-2015, 12:01 AM.Comment

Outstanding stream. Loved almost everything I heard/saw. The radio show is a great touch. I don't know if this is in this year, but I really hope that there is some "Hot Stove" discussion about possible trades and an offseason show to talk about player movement, contract offers, offseason trades, etc.
The visuals looks great, the new contracts are fantastic. The gameplay could still use some fine-tuning, but I've enjoyed it every iteration before and I will again this year.Comment

There are a few culprits - Batted balls down the line have little to no slice, the playing surface has excessive friction, and balls are not hit as hard as in real life.
I remember a few years ago there was a presentation package centered around batted ball velocity and Karros would wet his pants over a 100 MPH line drive... when guys are routinely hitting 110+ MPH HRs in real life. If a guy can hit a homerun that goes 110 MPH, then surely he can hit a line drive 120 MPH. One solution should be upping the power slider, but then you get too many homeruns.
Honestly, I shouldn't have to choose between realistic hits down the line and realistic number of home runs. This issue has been in the game for years and has been mentioned many times in the past. Why we're still seeing this is beyond me considering it's clearly a gameplay issue that affects the realism directly and literally never happens in real baseball. People argue about stirrups being too high and hats being at the wrong angle, but this is a direct gameplay issue that is as unrealistic as it gets.Comment

It seems like if you lowered friction in the outfield and increased hit slice (or even just one of these), you could solve this issue with no damage done to home run frequency.Comment

Yes but I'm willing to bet if you lower outfield grass friction, you'll also be turning hard hit, line drive singles into right fielders throwing runners out at first base.Comment

I loved almost everything in the stream, especially the Trade Finder. One thing that did worry me was listening to the game results on the radio show, there still seems to be too many complete games by starting pitchers in simmed games.Comment

All these look like great additions just hoping all of the same features they did in franchise will all be included and work the same in "Online Franchise".Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

You'd just have to tweak the right fielder's logic then.
In real life, right fielders almost NEVER throw to first unless a runner gets caught going to second on a fly out or line out. So really the right fielder should never be throwing to first on a single.Comment

you guys should update signature practice swings next year and allow 2 or 3 swings before pitch a lot of generic and wrong practice swings for guysComment

I have Kindle Fire HD and can't view the video. It's the only thing I have to watch it on. Amazon bought Twitch and I still can't watch it. It won't play. I don't know why it's doing this, unless I'm trying to view the live stream, which is no longer live. How do I go the archive of it? That's assuming they archived it on Twitch.Comment

The first tweak, IMO, is pinching the corner outfielders closer to center field. They just hug the lines too much, even if by a few feet.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show Livestream - Franchise Improvements, Inside the Radio Show & More
Dude... that blows... i cant build my South Beach empire in the NL East with out my additional $250 Million dollars that the additional 12,000 stubs we get with the 10-year anniversary addition... because from what i saw in the previous feed the amounts of franchise funds have severely dropped from 20, 120, 250, to 4, 22, and 44 if memory serves correctly.
that willl hurt me drastically.. i was hoping to have a bank roll of $350 million to start my 15 run... now i will only have max if everything i think to be true about $150 Million.
that hurts.. biig time... my empire is crumbling before my eyes... i need to file or bankruptcy immediately..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment
