Re: MLB 15 The Show Player Ratings - Top Rated Players For Each Team
We can always adjust the ratings to own liking as well. Just don't assign them to be too high. It's not fun always winning. It's more rewarding when you have to fight for your wins. Plus being able to handle losing builds character ... haha ... I better watch it saying such things. The ghost of Ayrton Senna will now begin to haunt me for even suggesting there is anything other than winning.

Well if we're going by the World Series, then Joe Panik should be a 99 overall.
At least according to Joe Buck.
Anyway, I'm satisfied with the Royals rankings. Sal is probably rated a little too low, but he was pretty bad at the plate last year, so an 82 isn't awful.Last edited by BA2929; 03-06-2015, 04:46 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Baez, I dunno. Tons of power with tons of strike outs, really good fielder some of the time, with a cannon arm, just makes too many mistakes on defense. So Contact and discipline should be really low. Hit power, arm strength and reaction time should be high. Fielding and arm accuracy should be average. I'm guessing Baez gets a higher rating because, as they've mentioned, second base is generally a weaker position, and that figures into their overall rating formula.Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show Player Ratings - Top Rated Players For Each Team
Are they not using actual player photos they year? I'd be fine with that, but it would be a surprising move.
Btw, they had actual player photos in their earlier streams, but not at the start of this stream.
UPDATE: Nevermind. I guess it was a fantasy draft mode thing.Last edited by HokieB; 03-06-2015, 05:30 PM.Comment

Photos are in the game but they were using fantasy draft. Fantasy draft changes all the player pictures in to the videogame versions of the players.
Same thing happens when a player gets traded in the game because they want them to have the correct team hat.Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show Player Ratings - Top Rated Players For Each Team
Actually if you look at his stats over the past 3 years, Bumgarner is barely a top 15 starting pitcher, so he is technically "overrated" I think his rating makes perfect sense, and playoff stats are nothing compared to regular season just look at Kershaw, you don't technically have to be "good" to do well, just look at the 2010, 2012, and 2014 Giants, not good teams but still won it all, not that i hate the Giants, i hate the bandwagon fans. But most Giants players are "overrated" based on regular season stats, besides maybe Posey, Bumgarner, and PenceComment

Re: MLB 15 The Show Player Ratings - Top Rated Players For Each Team
I am not going to say anyone is over or under-rated since I don't know what criteria was used to covert their stats to ratings and what stats the game considers most important for a position. What I will assume is that for each position, except in cases where the rating is manually tweaked, that players are ranked fairly on the criteria that is set up for each position. Now whether or not I, or everyone else agrees with the criteria might be another matter.Comment

AND, he was dominant in Japan.
Yes its not US baseball, but what from his pitching in Japan AND his pitching in the US, would lead anyone to believe he is not as good as advertised?Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show Player Ratings - Top Rated Players For Each Team
Ok, I think his overall rating in this game is acceptable, but looking solely at his numbers he currently is 91-50 over 7 seasons and in only two seasons has reached the 200 Innings pitched plateau; he has managed to start 30+ games for the past 6 seasons. So, you can't possibly tell me that these stats justify a seven year $210 million dollar contract plus $50 million dollar signing bonus.
Getting back to his rating, what is it a 94? Anyway if that is his overall than his potential should be about 86-88 I don't consider him a number 1 starter. The money that he will receive leads to believe that he is considered to be in the same category as Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw (Not even close IMO).Comment
