Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
In the line-up screen there is a red and a green bar. I assume one is batter fatigue, what is the other one and which is which.

Re: Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
What does the green bar above the red bar on the line up screen indicate then - just for show?
In MLB 14 - sorry! I'm a year behind. -

Re: Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
WHEW - I thought I was having a stroke or something.
That makes sense (well, not really but . . .) Thanks
I figured that since red was Fatigue in pitching it must be Fatigue in batting, why would it be different LOL I was confused with the switching of colors. Makes perfect sense now. pffffffft!
Thanks, I appreciate it.Comment

Re: Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
Yes as a few have already mentioned, top bar is overall rating, bottom bar is current fatigue levels.
If you try and play a player who is fatigued (somewhere between 25% and 33%) the game will tell you they are fatigued and the game will recommend you sit them. Of course you can ignore the recommendation. But over the course of the long 162 game season, the guys need to rest every once in a while.
A couple of other things to pay attention to is whether or not a player is on a cold streak and the common consensus there is to sit the player for a couple of games. Not 100% certain if SCEA has built this into the game where sitting the player helps bring them out of the cold streak, but that seems to be the consensus. The other thing to pay attention to is how the player performs versus left and right handed pitchers. I play with the Rockies and last season I platooned left handed batter Charlie Blackmon in CF when we played against right handed starting pitchers and then put in right handed batter Drew Stubbs against the lefties. Don't think I will need to do this, this season as I think Charlie has emerged to be competent against the lefties and I will only sit him when he is fatigued. However I need to wait to get the MLB 15 rosters to see how all my players are stacked up before I make any platooning decisions. Oh and when I am in a blow out (either I am up big or down big), I will sub out my more talented but slightly fatigued players earlier on in the games in the hope than a little rest in these blow out games allows them to make the next start. Sometimes the schedule has you playing something like 20 days in a row without a day off and there is no way a position player in this game can play 20 games in a row. The game definitely will not let you emulate Cal Ripken JR, or if you try the guy will be so tired he is useless.Last edited by My993C2; 03-07-2015, 01:44 PM.Comment

Re: Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
Your post reminds me of the one instance I truly want a 99 to be an absolute in this game.
If a player has a 99 durability ....unless there is an injury....he should be able to suit up without fatigue being an issue(CPU managers here is what I mean) as far as starting(I understand that perhaps his play ratings might get a hit)

Yeah I agree 100%, this is one of the rare things that I wish was improved upon, cause some guys, do play everyday. Before Votto started to have injuries, he was aguy who would play in almost every game, yet I really couldn't emulate that in the game. Plus the AI controlled teams automatically will sit a guy who is wore down, which kind of drove me nuts not seeing a guy like Hunter Pence not in the lineup, or Fielder before he was injured last yr.
I have always thought they need to have 2 ratings, stamina, and durability, that way the feeble players like a Tulo, you could have a high stamina rating, but yet have a extremely low durability, so he would be in th elineups, unless injured.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: Batter fatigue? Line-up screen?
Alcides Escobar has played in 320 of 324 games the last 2 years. Including all 162 + playoffs last year. Then went and played a bit in the Winter League in Venezuela. No way he would do that in the game.Last edited by HozAndMoose; 03-07-2015, 07:27 PM.Comment
