    Inside Edge

so I've been a 2k player for the past 7 years or so and just made the switch when I saw the show 14 for 10 bucks (placed in the wrong spot, love when they do that) at my local walmart.

Been adjusting pretty well but one question I have is does the show have anything similar to 2ks inside edge?
for those unfamiliar inside edge was like scouting reports you could purchase for each team that gave pitcher and hitter tendencies. It was always fairly useless to me in 2k but with the increased emphasis on guessing pitches/pitch types I feel it would be a huge help in the show is there something similar and I'm missing it, or am I going to have to start keeping a notebook, or are players pitch selection not based on any sort of scouting report?

Nope. There isn't anything like this.

Notebook it is then. Do you know if players pitch to tendencies and they are there for you to find? or are there pitches strictly dictated to situation.

Much Thanks for the quick response

Once again I don't think you can find pitch tendencies in the game either. And I don't know really analyze pitchers and what and when they throw a certain pitch. Someone else may know the answer to that question.

I think Steve's questions need to be directed towards B Ma.

            Re: Inside Edge

Here is what I have found and some of it has been verified by BMa or other devs on here:

The most reliable info you can have is to look at the situation. Say you have a righty at the plate. If there is a runner being held on 1st, expect inside pitches. If it is a double-play situation, expect low and inside stuff that breaks down especially change-ups, maybe sliders. The more power the hitter has, the less strikes you will see--especially say with 2 outs and an open base.

Less reliable is that they will pitch to cold zones but that depends on what a hitter has already seen. The game won't say that Trout can't hit a high heater, but if his first pitches of his first two at bats were low, then the third AB might start with a high heater.

Finally, the CPU will adjust to you. If you always take a pitch, it will lay one in there. If you swing a lot at the first pitch, it will try to make you chase.

            Hope this helps.

Look at pitch confidence and that's what they mainly throw plus keep in mind they will throw their primary pitch most often.

Another reason it's helpful to keep all or some of the OSD on during gameplay.
