I'll continue my Padres/A's franchise, I'm about halfway through 2015 in it. This will be my first year on PS4 so I'll probably also do a bunch of exhibition games to see all the beautiful ballparks. I'm also planning on switching from button zone hitting to analog directional, so I'll do some testing to make sure my sliders are properly set.

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
You won't have the real 2015 schedule unless you sim one season of MLB 14 and keep all the rosters exactly the same. If you do that you won't have the real 2014 stats

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
So I actually have a question regarding the OSFM rosters. It's my understanding that Knight gets help from the OS community and I've noticed that there are people whom are fans of their respective teams offer to help with the rosters OF THEIR FAVORITE TEAMS.
What's to say these volunteers don't boost the attributes a little of their favorite players from their favorite teams?
How are measures put in place in this large project to avoid this?
Just curious. Are we just taking people's word that they keep the ratings unbiased?Comment

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
Probably sounds odd, but I play a lot of exhibition games with the fake minor leaguers until the OSFM is released. I typically don't like to play much with my team the Reds until Im ready to start my Franchise, that way I learn them as I go, especially since I play every Spring Training game.
I don't typically play a lot until the OSFM rosters are out anyway, as Im still playing NBA2k a lot, but once the OSFM hit, MLBTS is about all I play until baseball season is over, and even then I play it quite often even long after the World Series is over.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11
Favorite teams:
MLB- Reds/ and whoever is playing the Cubs
NBA- Pacers
NFL- Dolphins & ColtsComment

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
I'll play a few exhibition games and then fire up a practice run franchise with an NL team. Either the Padres, Dodgers or Pirates. Then throughout that first month I'll tweak the sliders until I've got a perfect set.
Then when OSFM comes out I'll start my proper franchise for real with either the White Sox or Mariners. I'll probably have an NL franchise going at the same time so I don't get bored as well. Maybe with the Mets, Dodgers or Padres.
When I'm playing my proper franchise I like the sliders to be the same for the whole experience. If I keep having to change them because the hitting is too easy or the pitching is too hard, I lose the continuity that makes franchise so exciting for me.
Getting those sliders perfect beforehand is my main goal and doing a practice franchise allows me to keep track of averages throughout 5, 10, 15, 20 games etc. so as I change them I can see how they're balancing out.Comment

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
For me, its just not worth waiting anymore. But those who wait, good for you. The roster makers put a ton of effort into this, and I appreciate all the work they have done which Ive benefitted from in the past.Comment

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
I'll play the Subway Series (Mets, of course) first and then from there likely just pick random matchups so I can check out different teams/stadiums.
I will carry over my Orioles season from MLB 14 and try and finish that up (in August) before starting a Mets franchise with the OSFM 15 roster.Currently Playing:

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
I'll be okay with the generated players, which now are random every time you start a franchise, until OSFM drops. I just really hope the generated players equipment choices have improved from previous versions. Also I hope I don't see every other player with handlebar mustaches and dread.Comment

I don't wait. I jump right in and start my franchise.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
I always used to wait...this year is the first im considering not.
We are looking at a month after release until they come out, thats a lot of wasted playing time and in all likelihood im only going to get one season in on this game (playing all 162) anyway, so having the correct minors for years to come matters little.
I do however think if i dont wait, when they do drop ill start wishing i had waited.
Who knows, we'll see.
First year im even considering not waiting.
Your thoughts on why you dont wait Country?Comment

Also, the way franchise is setup presently, players are going to fall from the game and disappear after you draft players. So there are 5 players typically per team that will disappear.
What I do is name the Top prospects for each team (A & B potential usually) as I play through Spring Training. There are 30 days of ST and 30 teams. So after each day, I go name prospects for one team and then play the next days games and then name a team and continue until Regular season starts.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: While Waiting For OSFM
Bought a PS4 and a copy of '14. Set up a franchise last night with last years OSFM rosters. Won't have to wait on anything. These carry over's are the bee's knees!I'll start another when the roster gets published too, probably. Don't wanna miss out on Frazier and Mesoraco's break-out years.
And play a lot of The Golf Club!"Take those guys over to the back fields, I wanna see if they can play on the road."--Sparky AndersonComment
