Pitchers should just wear a facemask kinda like alot more girls are starting to use in softball, just up to date like a hi tech football helmet or something, idk, how about pitchers wear a normal hat? Ughhhh

Over the last century many sorted events and unscrupulous characters have besmirched the game but THIS is hands down the worst thing to ever happen to baseball.

You know, with how bulky that thing is and how stupid it looks, why don't pitchers who want the protection just wear a batting helmet? I thought helmets were originally thought to be worn in the field too when they were first created anyways...

Have you ever tried to pitch or play the field with a helmet on? It isn't comfortable. The thing moves on you as you move and if it has an ear flap or two it is very distracting. Or if you wear one that is not properly fitted to your head it falls off anytime you bend over.

My favorite part is how people complain about how it looks and that is reasoning for not wanting to see players wear it. If it makes the sport safer without detracting from the results then it should be an option. I wouldn't knock any pitcher that chooses to wear one. Just like I would never knock a hockey player that chooses to wear a visor (they used to not even wear helmets 25+ years ago, and players were thought to look stupid or be soft if you wore one. now they are mandatory and everyone doesn't give it a second thought).

I am sure that if enough players start wearing them in real life the team at SCEA would include them into a game at some point. I am also certain that the design will transform over time and not be as bulky or hideous looking.
