Re: too early for a trade thread?

As the White Sox, keep building towards the core and trade for a C. I've wanted them to get Grandall the past two offeasons. Anyone have any suggestions on who else? Likely from a team with catching depth blocked in the minors where it would make sense for both teams?

Yankees have some catchers. Do not think they would move Sanchez but maybe Murphy and certainly Romine (sp). I kind of like Murphy not sure what they would want.

      Ramirez is 17/19 in saves, ERA 1.83 19 IP, 16 k's and a whip of 0.71.

Being a Braves fan, there isn't much left to trade. But i'm gonna do a franchise and try to get Bryant. Pretty much move some players. Solidify the outfield with young talent. See what happens.

This might not work or it might be too much But in my Marlins Im going to see if I can trade Mat Latos and Dee Gordon for Jose Altuve and a pitcher like Mark Appel, Last year this trade would have been no problem because it seemed to me that the CPU ate up A potential prospects thinking they were automatic gods. This year the trade logic is supposed to be much more realistic though

          Give:
Mat Latos: 84 Ovr A Potential
Dee Gordon: 83 Ovr B Potential

          For:
Jose Altuve: 91 Ovr B Potential
Mark Appel: Unknown player rating I think, we've only seen the top 10 for each team right? The lowest on the Astros on that list is a 78 ovr so Mark would have to be below that, Im also assuming he will be an A potential

I might have to throw in another player most likely a prospect to get this to work but somehow I will get Jose Altuve to the Marlins.

            Yay baseball season!
As a Nats fan, I've heard a lot of speculation regarding Zimmerman and Strasburg. As someone else stated, Strasburg was more media hype than anything else. However, Rizzo(the gm) has stated multiple times that he will listen to every player on the roster and isn't afraid to move anyone if he is blown away. With all of the speculation I have heard, Betts would most likely have to be involved in the deal for the Sox to land either Zimm or Stras. The Nats pitching pipeline is too strong for Owens to be the headliner from the Sox side. Swihart would be appealing but from everything I've heard/read, he is more untouchable than Betts is. The Nats currently have no interest in actively trying to move either Zimm or Stras as they are trying to win this year, but obviously they both could be had for the right price.

Stras is less likely to move than Zimm due to the 2 years of control remaining as opposed to Zimm being in his walk year. Zimm could prolly be had for Betts and a decent pitching prospect(low B maybe). As for Stras, similar but more.

This thread is okay for now, but we'll start the official yearly trade thread sometime Tuesday once everyone has the game.

Re: too early for a trade thread?

With Longoria entering his extension soon (this year or next? Can't remember), I think it is possible that he could be moved for a nice haul as he is locked up for a while at an under market rate. With the Rays losing Maddon and talent looking less than past years, it's possible (but most likely not) than he can be moved. As the White Sox need a long-term answer at third, I was thinking of a package based around Hawkins (OF), Anderson/Johnson (SS/2B), Michalczewski (switch hitting 3B, only 20), 1 of Adams, Danish, Montas, and Gillaspie as a stop gap 3B in a deal for Longoria and probably another filler player). Thoughts?

Edit: maybe Avi Garcia instead of Hawkins and subtracting Johnson or Anderson and then plugging in a stop gap in right for Hawkins.

                My lineup would be:

                Eaton CF
                Cabrera LF
                Abreu 1B
Longoria 3B (signed til '22 with an option for '23)
                LaRoche DH
                Ramirez SS
                Avi/stop gap RF
                Flowers C
Sanchez/Bonifacio/Beckham (maybe Johnson if he isn't traded) 2B

going to try and rebuild the phillies... thinking of two trade ideas of the top of my head.

howard to blue jays for a low b/high c sp and aj jiminez?

papelbon reunion with theo in chi town for junior lake and maybe something small?

                  thoughts?

Starting a Rockies franchise. What are the chances the Nats let Zimmerman walk next offseason? I'd rather wait and try to lure him as a FA.

In real life he almost certainly will be testing FA. He stated he doesn't want to negotiate in season and recent reports said they are currently not close to a deal. In the game, I couldn't tell you.

What short stops are available that I could get for some package of Quentin, Maybin, Thayer, Torres? I hate Amarista. I used Solarte as my SS during my Show 14 current franchise with updated rosters.

                        Eduardo Escobar?

I wouldn't imagine it being much. Maybe a C potential pitching or outfield prospect?

Yeah I'll probably just use trade finder. Want to get him 3000 hits.
