With directional I think basically you aim where you want to hit the ball. Left or right. Then up or down for fly ball or ground ball.
what you need to know is directional hitting is somewhat reliant on where the pitch is just like zone. Ie.. it's hard to pull an outside pitch. It's hard to hit a grounder on a high pitch.
As far as zone I personally like it better. My best advice is to select a location where you think a pitch is going to be and don't swing if it's elsewhere. Work the count. Getting in a hitters count like 2-1 3-1 your going to get a good pitch to hit. Probably a fastball over tge plate on 3-1 or 3-0. Also over time you learn how the cpu is going to pitch you. Ie. The cpu always throws pitches up on votto I've noticed. I've also noticed that I get alot of pitches low to encarnacion. over time you'll notice cpu trends when it comes to pitching.
