Ok thanks. I realized I only throw fastballs up in the zone and was wondering if anything else in that location also works.

    Thanks again.

      You're welcome.
I really only throw FB's up in the zone as well.
A FB low and away followed by or following a slider low and away is killer.

I throw curveballs up in the zone quite often, but only the 12-6 ones. I throw them so that they are way above the zone and break down (hopefully) into the upper border of the zone.

I'd say the only pitches I don't throw high in the zone is a changeup, and of course, sinkers.

You haven't been shelled yet? Thats a bold move to intentionally throw hangers.

I feel like I have to do it. I tried only throwing fastballs high, and the CPU seems to always jump all over it. My perception is that the occasional high curveball keeps the CPU honest on high fastballs.

In Franchise, I control all thirty teams for trade realism and call ups and such. My question is we've seen a couple of manager changes will I be able to hire/fire new manager ala Redmond?

when pitching and you hold down R2, there are multi-colored dots (blue, light blue, pink) what do these mean?

Those are the pitches you have thrown that at bat or the previous at bat to that player. The color represents the pitch thrown. The pitch on X = blue, Square = pink, Triangle = Green etc..

Is there a schedule for Specialty Packs?

In the past some have suggested when the rosters update new packs will come out, but i currently have no specials available and I have been connected to the internet the whole time.

I have ~10K stubbs from playing a ton of games and saving up, I'm terrible at working the market so I'm just trying to get something similar to the silver loaded, or some kind of gold pack instead of blowing it on 10 regular ones.

                      Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread

I have a questions regarding online exhibition games. just last night was first time I have ever played a online match so I'm new to the online experience. so my questions are:

                      1. is the gameplay always choppy with weird stuttering and with constant lag. it wasn't really bad while pitching or batting, but fielding to me for my opponent looked like the game was severely broken and full of hiccups (curious to know if I'm just seeing that on my end while my opponent is seeing way smoother game play on his end)

                      2. what does it take for your online game to be acknowledge on your profile? to explain I played two game first game my opponent dropped out in the middle of the game (I guess those don't count?) but the second game we played a full game from start to finish, I won that match and nothing..... didn't show I had a online win or anything?

                      3. How do I find players to play online that know what they are doing?
both games I played my opponents were obviously using their favorite pitchers and used them all the time because in both game while they were pitching it said that their pitchers were out of stamina in the first inning and they continued to use them throughout the game.

Is using a pitcher to pinch hit still broken as in years past? As in, does it make you pitch with the pitcher you used as a pinch hitter?

I've found that a high cutter or slider that breaks out of the strikeout is a good strikeout pitch against the CPU. I'll also start a changeup high., but it should never threaten the zone. You'll get the occasional chase and it does change the batter's eye level. It's definitely riskier. If the pitcher misses in the zone with it...

I agree. A cutter up that breaks in on the hands has gotten me a lot of strike outs.

He meant curveball not cutter by CU I believe.

With the thread about starting pitcher stamina in the playoffs issue i was wondering does the CPU have a quicker hook in playoffs? Or should you adjust that slider in playoffs?
