Want to say that I played my first online game and it was smooth!.. I'm very happy with this and hope it's smooth once the servers are loaded with everyone else on release date. Now offline: I'm glad that hitting feels more tougher this year and requires plate discipline. In the few games I played I noticed a lot more hit variations which was awesome. Also, I noticed that the fielders bobble the ball more depending on the plays and there's a bunch of new fielding animations. The commentating is better but this is the one area I wish they'd change. I wish they would get announcers with more energy and excitement. The graphics also improved. Overall this game is great...

Seriously, you can make some amazing plays this year that last year were sort of taken away because of how quickly fielders got to the ball. I made an amazing diving catch with Stephen Piscotty last night (sorry forgot to save video) and you would've thought I won the World Series! Or as my wife said, thought I was having a fit!

I agree the fielding is so much better. The fielder's have a better sense of urgency when needed. I also love the cut off button such a huge addition.

agreed. Its amazing how much I've actually used it in the 18 games I've played thus far. Seems like a small addition on a fact sheet, but get into the game and its a HUGE addition.

There are people in the hotel rooms at rogers Centre in Toronto. They aren't just static either they move and cheer. Nice touch.

I wish so bad they would make rogers open and close. The crowd wears snow suits most the year and most night games are long sleeves. If it's that cold the roofs closed. Been this way for far too long.

The jays mascot is completely the wrong color still. When they corrected the blue a couple years ago they left the mascot the wrong dark color. In no way a big deal just pointing it out.

The away pants are still wrong. They should have a white stripe down the middle. Again not a big deal but I know it bugs some people.

I hope to god that they fixed the issue of the last few years where sometimes the jumbotron would show the American flag when the jays win at home. Haven't seen it yet but the fact the other little legacy issues are still there has me worried.

The new catcher equipment is sick. Looks absolutely incredible.

I like the neon colors they added as well.

The necklaces look pretty cool. You can choose many different colors but they also included gold and silver as an option and they look fantastic. Only thing I've noticed so far though is that I don't think they equipped anyone with gold or silver as default. Every player with a necklace I've seen by default is either a team color or black. Which is too bad because the necklaces look like they were meant to be gold or silver. it's going to be a headache to manually change them all.

I'm trying not to harp on this but something is up with day games for me. I posted earlier that the catchers sleeves went all wonky after I selected a pitch
That game was a day game. I've played 4 night games after that with no issue and now another day game. I took russell Martins 3/4 sleeves off so I wouldn't have that issue and it did clear that up. Now though the back of stroman's jersey gets all screwed up mostly around his shoulders and armpit area but it's only after you select a pitch. It's weird you can see the whole screen kinda change in a milisecond Right when you select a pitch. The first photo is before I select a pitch and the second is right after. It might not look like much because I took a picture of my tv with my phone but it's big time noticeable while I'm playing. Anyone else noticing that at all?

At the end of the day it's not a huge deal. I mean the game is incredible. I'm not trying to nitpick it just really is quite noticeable and no one else seems to be reporting the issue so I'm wondering if it's to do with something else maybe.

Edit. I was trying to pay closer attention and that milisecond hiccup I was talking about seems like it's the resolution changing right when I pick a pitch. In the top picture you can see the grass has texture and detail but then in the bottom picture it's all flat. what I'm thinking is a milisecond hiccup is actually the grass changing texture.

Just a heads up. The flickering on the sleeves was like this last year as well. It drove me nuts last year. One of those things that once you notice it, you can't un notice it.

Another thing I just discovered that sucks real bad.
I created a player and started a franchise. Now when I go into manage roster and edit player I can't edit a bunch of things on my created player. Any of the options that use the sticks such as eye position you can edit. Stuff like hair style or facial hair I can't change. So it seems basically whatever hair style or facial hair you choose you better be sure.
I liked to change my created guys hair and beard once and a while. Not this year apparently.
thank god it still let's me edit accessories.

edit. Not cool I can't edit any of the SCEA fictional players. Not even skin tone. That's weak. Even more reason to wait for the OSFM rosters Before starting a franchise. Sometimes a guy would come out of nowhere in the middle of the season and have not been included in the roster I would make him out of a fictional player. Not anymore I guess.

Edit #2 I restarted my ps4 hoping it was a bug. Nope. Man that sucks.

I don't understand the graphic of the pitch prior to pitching.... What is its purpose? It's not the "break point ", it takes up half the screen.... Anyone know?

Edit: I guess it is the break point. From where the pitch is released to where it finishes. Just an obnoxious looking graphic...Not sure I like it.

Such a beautifully detailed game tho. Last year was my first TS. The detail in 15' is just immaculate.

Finally got to play a full game last night I was the Orioles and I forgot who I was going against. I love the gameplay. I love the new cutscenes. I tell you this if u button mash thru the presentation this year you will miss a lot. I quickly started a franchise just to see stuff. I love the new overlay and I love the radio. Good job Sony

Well this thread is probably gonna blow up like the godfather in a couple hours so I'm gonna give my final thoughts after 4 days and about 15 games.

it's better in every way. Not necessarily ground breaking but it's seems like it's gonna be a good year for show fans. Fielding IMO saw the biggest improvements but that's the area that also needed it the most I think.

Graphics are definetly smoother but still has the ocasional framerate dip and jaggies. The face scans are tons better and the lighting is fantastic. The camera cuts and split screen elements are way cool.

The review system has been neat but I've now had 3 challenges and they played out exactly the same all 3 times. Worried it might get stale. Radio show has been very repetitive as well but I definetly see the potential.

if you've read this thread you've seen I've experienced a few issues but nothing game breaking for sure. I'm just not gonna come in here and be like rah rah best game ever and not communicate the negatives.

I truly feel like it's the best version yet and am very much looking forward to the OSFM rosters.

PS bring back sounds of the show next year please.

Finally: If you turn off Strike Zone, and turn on Hot Zone Preview, you get the hot zones on the first pitch. LOVE that this works finally.
