Not to come across as a smarta** but when they say massive are we talking about a gb,500mb or around 100mb, i would have no problem dl a few 100mb's if it updated a player, especially this close to launch and to a major player.

I understand if they don't think its worth the effort but the size of the file/update shouldn't be a issue.

I am currently going through and re-installing my games after changing my hdd the other day and there are a lot of games with 2-3gb patches some even bigger. One game has a 6gb update for dlc that i have no intention of buying but must still dl if i want to use the online component.

Again i am not fussed either way if they update it but i would hate that the reason they don't update the game if they feel it needs or could improve it is because of the size of a file/s.

I don't see how hair has anything to do with the face file. I wouldn't think it would be any more difficult than just changing the hair to a generic style like you would on a created player. But what do I know?

LOL guys Ramone and Kirby both already explained why they don't update faces like 2K or Madden (You guys need to stop comparing apples and oranges. SCEA ISN'T 2K or EA until you get off of that boat you're never going to understand). Their face scan files are massive and already on the disc and they don't make any changes. If you paid any attention to the streams this was already explained in detail by Kirby and the Character Artist team.

If I am not mistaken he's been a fury face for several years now, but at least in MLB 14 he was still sporting the same clean shaven baby face he had when he broke into the league. Sometimes you just have to ignore the fact that the player's likeness in the game may not always reflect how they look in the real world.
Cutch hadn't gotten a haircut since 2006 before this one, so I honestly doubt his hair gets that long anytime soon again.

I didn't see that stream, but still I doubt that their face scan file is that much more large than 2k with theirs. I wouldn't say that comparing the player models of the two are apples and oranges, just because SCEA makes a better game doesn't mean it's an apple to 2K's orange. 2k has pretty impressive player models with face, neck, hair, and body being scanned with very amazing results most of the time and they update hair, facial hair, faces, and tattoos multiple times a year. SCEA just has a face scan and the hair is drawn in... The game is vastly superior but they have really dropped the ball with the amazing technology now to be able to update players with patches and hot patches.

There is no honest reason why they can't, there can be reasons why they don't want to but they should know as well as everyone how frustrating it is to play a game that is supposed to represent real life and it doesn't. We all were okay with it but still frustrated every time we saw Chris Davis or Mark Trumbo or many of the guys with beards in the game who might of had a beard for a couple of weeks in real life or vice-versa... It's cherry picking for problems, which is a good thing, being that we have to cherry pick for problems with this game but it's the double edged sword for SCEA, put out a great product and the fan base is just going to want you to show you can make it even more great. This really has been one of the only issues with The Show is updating the game. Do we all remember the Mike Stanton fiasco? Decides he wants to go by his first name Giancarlo and they have to use a created player as his likeness instead of being able to just change his name and keep the player model.

This isn't a complaint at all and on the 31st I will be playing the game happy, oh so very happy, but it is a concern for the future.

I'm only in my early 20's and I played an Atari at my grandparents house.

2k and MLB might have the same size face scans. But MLB has to make a lot more. How many different players are going to play for an NBA team in a year? 20 MAYBE? Miami Heat had 18 different players play in last eyar. Royals had 48. And we didnt have many injuries so im sure other teams had well over 50.

To piggyback off this. The Texas Rangers used 64 players last season.

So what means massive? A player data on PES2015 has a size of about 3MB! I doubt this is any higher on MLBTS. Just because these files are already on "disc" doesn't mean these can't be patched.

These are the reasons we were given. They said "massive" and "huge" for face scans and uniform files. They explained to us that updating them after the game was finished was not an option and was not going to happen.

To get angry at this point is pretty pointless, imo. Hopefully in the future things will change and perhaps they will work these issues out so that they can be updated like other games do it. But for now, we have to take them at their word that their game does not work in the same fashion as those other games work and that they cannot do this as easily, or at all.
