Re: Framerate?
Plays smooth for me, no frame issues, maybe your PS4 is dying? Many others also have not had FPS issues.Unfortunately I've found the framrate issues to be quite noticeable. It is pretty much in all the cutscenes and can't be ignored. It is not awful but it is definitely a problem and detracts from the game. In gameplay it isn't really very noticeable but I don't think it is running at 60fps even then. This feels like somewhat of a backward step as I've been playing MLB 13 on the PS3 up until present, having skipped MLB 14. MLB 15 was one of the main reasons I bought a PS4 and whilst the graphical fidelity is obviously improved overall, the framerate drops make it feel like it is a less polished game than MLB 13 and not as pleasant an experience to play.
The game as a whole is impressive and well designed but the framerate issues feel like a major minus point to me. It has dampened my enthusiasm for this game quite alot. I feel like a locked, smooth framerate is more important than flags blowing in the breeze, realistic sun position and the crowd catching fly balls. I'm not sure they have got their priorities right for this one.Comment

Re: Framerate?
Go to YouTube, search any ps2 era Show footage. I'm not going to argue. It's there for you to see, if you'd like. Am I saying that there have been no improvements from the ps2 era? Of course not. The basic player models and animations are, however, basically the same. You may also have missed where I said the new lighting was 'beautiful'.Last edited by Mets7766; 03-31-2015, 03:42 PM.Comment

Re: Framerate?
I lived that era, and videos onyl show how moronic it is saying ps2 era animations were even near what we have today. Animations were stiff in that eraComment

Re: Framerate?
One takeaway is that its a shame the PS4 isn't strong to do this. The visual quality in the Show 15 isn't that impressive. There isn't much reason it shouldn't be running at 60fps. In my playing of the game I haven't noticed much slowdown aside from cutscenes but in reality it should be pushing out a constant 60fps. I really wish The Show was on the PC but we can always dream. I'm enjoying the game so far.Comment

Re: Framerate?
Unless you haver a powerfull rig, PC games have always had variable frame rates and isssues due to drivewrs, optimization....ironic..Also The show is made in house by sony why would they release it on PC? Most people with PC's could not run the show as well as it looks currently....One takeaway is that its a shame the PS4 isn't strong to do this. Re: Framerate?
My point is that if the PS4 isn't running this game at a perfect 60fps there isn't much farther you can go from here. And I'm a PC gamer. My standards are high. I am enjoying the game though, just a shame that its not a perfect 60fps.Comment

Re: Framerate?
I feel bad for criticising the game as I know they put a ton of work into it at Sony San Diego and it obviously has so much to recommend about it. But it doesn't feel like a huge leap forward in terms of in game gameplay, just a prettier, more colourful skin put on it and a few small tweaks here and there. The framerate problem is a big negative for me and really pulls me out of the experience in game. I feel like a yearly cycle is detrimental to this game. Why not just spend a couple of years really fine tuning it, re-working things, taking the time to make it feel like something new. The rushed production cycle seems to be a hindrance and means they are just iterating in small increments from what has been done rather than making a brand new game.
Again I feel bad for criticising and I still think it's a great game, it's just that it could be that much better and closer to perfection with a bit more time and thought.Comment

Re: Framerate?
I said, "Dream" for a reason. I know its never going to be on PC. Thats why I own a PS4. And you're right. Most people with PCs could not run the show as it looks on PS4. But most people with PCs have regular old Dell laptops or MacBooks not made for gaming. Anyone with a gaming rig above $500 could.Unless you haver a powerfull rig, PC games have always had variable frame rates and isssues due to drivewrs, optimization....ironic..Also The show is made in house by sony why would they release it on PC? Re: Framerate?
Total and utter BS...copnsole games look better as the gen progresses, google mantle, and vulkan and PS4 SDK improvements.....People who don;t understand development should not comment on it...Also a few variable frames are in 99% of games ever including PC.... These games today are complex software.
Compare Uncharted 1 and 2...major leap, same will happen as optimizations at the metal hardware level happen.
If perfect 60 FPS is what you expect then that is unrealistic...engines get more demanding all the time.Comment

Nope, unless you can run a PC without a power supply, Monitor, Keyboard etc...I said, "Dream" for a reason. I know its never going to be on PC. Thats why I own a PS4. And you're right. Also many could care less about gaming on PC.Comment
