Need some help. From what I've been reading here there are supposed to be 2 downloads: one of 4GB and the other for 36GB. Mine is only downloading the 4GB. It already has downloaded a smaller actualization.
I went to the dashboard and click options but it still only show the 4GB download going right now at 1.2GB.
When does the 36GB starts to download? After the 4GB is done?

As Hoz (pretty sure it was Hoz) has said about 10 times now... the first 4GB are just what it takes in order for you to play the Giants v royals matchup while the rest installs (which is irrelevant in this case because the game doesn't unlock until Tuesday morning). Once it downloads those 4GB, the rest will begin downloading. So yeah, you're right

Did they have enough time to completely finish downloading and installing everything? You didn't start the pre-load late or just have really slow internet right?

Crossing my fingers even though it wouldn't be the worst thing if I had to wait some additional time

I got both games like a week after release date, (don't know if that makes any difference) but they both completely downloaded and once I entered the game to play, at the main menu, it had a % stating it was installing. Hardline took a looong time. I don't know if it's game specific or what but that's been my experience

Yea getting it after release makes a big difference.

Oh okay. This is a different situation then (sort of). The Show will download and install everything so it'll be completely ready by release.

The reason you had to install those games is because you started playing them once the initial download was finished, not the whole thing. Most, if not all, games now are setup so you can start playing something while the rest downloads and installs. So there's an initial download, then you can play a portion of the game while the rest finishes.

This may be common knowledge, but if you purchased the Anniversary Edition, you can now download all of the themes. They are all listed as "Free" on the PS Store.

I don't want to try this since my game is in the middle of downloading, but…

once your game is fully downloaded, can you take your PS4 offline, change your system date and time to something past 3/31, and trick the game into letting you play early?

I just tried, it tells you that you have to connect to the internet.

Well 24 hours left. dL and done hours ago before work, and sitting here tonight with nothing to do but flip through these threads. This reminds me of the feeling I used to get as a kid around Christmas time. Your gift is sitting under the tree, and you know you've got what you wanted, but can't touch it until tomorrow.

I have only preloaded one other game and that was Bloodborne and it was just last week.

It downloaded on Sunday, just as MLB The Show has, and when the counter hit 0:00 I was able to play. No install of any kind needed to happen.

That was just last week so I assume this will be similar.

And curse Sony for releasing these two great games so close together.

hahaha I was thinking of trying this. probably not, I'd assume it would need to authenticate online first.

Not to derail the thread but that game looks incredible. Thanks for reminding me I also want to buy that this week when I make it out to Best Buy.
