    Re: Disc vs Download

I always sell mine after a few months anyways so even if digital offered a huge discount I still wouldnt do it as you then have no resale value .

Either way I think digital should offer some type of discount on what they save and the resale value we lose and pass it on to us , fair is fair .
Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !

Game studios dont even like stores like gamestop that can sell used games. Why would they give you a discount because you cant resell it?

Yeah but not much they can do about it until they can figure out a way to make discs obsolete and somehow get every possible sale to have online access to DL it

I have two reasons why I may go digital for the first time.

I live 100 miles from any store that will be selling this game on Tuesday. Also, I am on spring break and I don't want to waste a second of it by not having a ton of time playing the Show (man I miss when the game was released in early March).

Being able to play the game at midnight is golden for me!

              That is correct.

Did same last year and sold disc the day before game came out.

I have no use for discs that I play most of the year.

So how does that work? Does the game install from the disc when you use it, then once you download it's just there and no installing? Or does it try to install the download too?

Game installs from the disc just like it would install from the PSN server. The disc is just a license for the ps4 to know you own the game

So when I sell the disc the game is installed in my hdd but if I want to play it with no disc I must buy the digital license from PSN store which is the full retail value again and it wont install again because I already have it installed from disc. it will just grant me digital license so that I do not require the disc

Must you always have an internet connection to play digital versions, even if the game is on the hard drive?

                      For offline play ... no.

No that is not required. But if the game is for online play or requires online play to work like Titanfall then yeah you cannot

But I have BF hardlines in disc and the show

By Monday both will be sold as BF hardline does nothing for me long term that BF4 and COD cant which I have digital versions off

I will use money to buy BloodBorne disc as I am not sure that is a game I will like but will try it

Fair is fair and console owners are getting shafted big time, look at the digital prices of games on consoles compared to digital games on steam, prices on digital console games are not fair at all, who decides its ok to sell Xgame on console for 9.99 but everywhere else including pc, smart phones and tablets get the same exact game for 2.99 or 99 cents, anyone remember when Angry birds came out on ps3? It was 9.99, but on my buddies phone it was free, if the industry wants to go digital only then they need to have equal prices throughout all formats, i refuse to buy 90% of the digital games on ps4 because i can get them elsewhere with all the expansions and so on for barely nothing, yes AAA games start out at 60 dollars on console and steam but in 2 monthes that same AAA game will be 40 on console and 15 on steam, imo digital is a sham until there are universal prices, thanks.

This is just your opinion. To me having 10 games all on disc is not smart because I have to get up to change discs all the time. I pay full price for dd only about 10% of the time because Like I said. If the game is a long term keeper then I do DD but I also love games that I beat and can trade within a month which i get credit for and can use that credit to buy other long term DD games.

Is what I do and having 10 cases of discs and having to get up each time to change the disc is not something I want to do when having all dd I can switch on the fly

Not to mention with disc the ps4 starts to make loud engine noises a lot of the times.

Can anyone tell me if I preorder the Show now on my console, when it will actually start downloading? My connection isn't always reliable as to speed. I was wondering if it's true u can start downloading Sunday. Thanks everyone.

Yes, Sunday. It says on the countdown screen that the expected Auto-Download date is 3/29.
