Twins blue alternate uniforms are also wrong. Last year, The Show had them with red numbers on front and back. This year, The Show has them with white numbers on front and back. In real life, the front numbers are white and back numbers are red.

So did the Twins organization depict their own uniforms incorrectly in the style guide two years in a row? In two different ways?

Or is the style guide not being followed?

I think this is the result of pure laziness on the part of the development team. Don't forget, MLB2K had the uniforms correct, so if this is truly a style guide issue, somehow the 2K team was able to work around it. SCEA blaming the "style guide" is an excuse for the sloppy, lazy artwork. I get that this is a non-issue for anyone not using the Twins in Franchise, but for those of us who are, it's a glaring problem. Fix it.

Pirates are indeed wearing the matte helmets for the regular season, too.

Guys, if you have a problem with your team not having the correct uniform in the game, especially a long-standing issue that's been persisting for years (Twins road pants, A's batting helmets, etc.), then CONTACT THEM. Find a media relations contact on the team's official web site and write them an email. Put that you've been a fan for years and years. You might get a standard form letter back, but hey, you might not.

SCEA really can't do anything. The style guide is like a padlock wrapped around a chain wrapped around Fort Knox to them, or so I've been told.

I get that this is a non-issue for anyone not using the Twins in Franchise, but for those of us who are, it's a glaring problem. Fix it.

It is for people using the White Sox, Royals, Tigers, or Indians. I use the Cubs, and because I played at Miller Park quite often, the fact that the Brewers didn't have the proper home alternates had bothered me for years.

If those were in the game, the Rays wouldn't wear any other uniform in my game.

Same here! I miss those uniforms! I thought they were some of the best out there!

For those wanting to take it further from here there are a couple of well known uniform guys who have access to the guide. Not sure if allowed to mention their names but Google should find them.
Tweet them as I have found them useful to clear thngs up before. Will just say it definately isn't always a style guide issue.
I'd find it very hard to believe the twins/As etc have had the guide wrong for 4/5 years.

I can confirm that the Mariners do have their correct new outline. I will post pictures if you guys want.

2K had this right on the first year they had these out if I remember. I have no idea what is going on at SCEA but how does a dev like 2K get the unis right the first year and The Show can't get these right for 4 years? It's a friggin's stripe down the grey pants? They had Joe Mauer on the cover TWICE.

At some point it is up to the dev to talk to their MLB contacts to get permission to fix errors in uniforms. When you have fans that are thinking about contacting league offices the developer of said MLB game is clearly not doing enough to mitigate the issue. Sony has the MLB license. It's about time someone said something to people. We don't develop this game. We buy it. And a lot of us Twins fans are getting real tired of this oversight.

Why wouldn't you be able to mention them? Paul Lukas sometimes mentions that he has access to the guide on UniWatch. My other guess would be Chris Creamer because he's the other big uniform guy.
