I've always been fascinated by a knuckleball's wobble (which isn't covered here).
Thing is, it doesn't LOOK like it's wobbling, when seen from ANY view other than the hitter's eyes--not even the catcher, if catcher-eye cams on YouTube are to be believed.
Seriously, I even got that "Knuckleball!" documentary on DVD, and it looks relatively straight to me.
Such a weird optical illusion--but that's what makes the pitch so great to me.
But of course, there's always the chance that I'm missing the glaringly obvious.
Wouldn't be the first time. -
