How do you know that? For all anyone knows, every other game he wants is on xbox. Maybe all the people he plays online with are on xbox. Hell, the only thing WE know is that the OP said HE might get a ps4 JUST for ONE game. What part of THAT are you having difficulty with???

Sony has the biggest staple of exclusive award winning developers, and also gets all the third party games, and vastly more digital titles.

Actually, the only silly stuff is you coming into the thread for no reason whatsoever outside of trying to take this in a needless direction. I came into the thread because im one of the guys who recently bought a p4 JUST for the Show, same as i did for ps3 I mean for the love of god, is this what you do in your free time, to worry about someone saying he or she is only buying the console for one game and to try and predict something deeper than what the title of the thread is itself? Take the console wars somewhere esle lol.

Yes it is the deepest, most authentic sports game, gameplay is outstanding and mimics the real life sport better then any other sports game.

Does it have a better franchise mode than on nba 2k15? Seriously thinking about it. I'm not the most massive fan of baseball but neither was I of basketball until I bought 2k about ten years ago and have bought every game since. But all I hear about is positives. Do they support the game well after release with patches as I have been reading some slight problems on other threads. Do they generally get it right in the end? Nba support on the Xbox is annoying the crap about of me as 3 weeks later we are still waiting for patch 4

I would say that 2k has the better franchise mode and that it has better graphics 2 but mlb the shows graphics are a big step up form last year and the show always plays very realistic. I am not a big baseball guy love nba and NFL and really only watch MLB come playoffs but yet I love this game year after year.

There are a ton of awesome games on PS4 that you will never see on Xbox. And the Bone is actually pretty disappointing coming from a PC player. The system is very weak in the knees and is not going to hold up much past another year except for the very few excusives they have.

So yes. Do it.

I had always been a PS3 MLB The Show player and for 15 I picked up a PS4, as well as a new "60 TV to make the gaming experience that much better. How's that for commitment!? So far I'm impressed with the graphics, smooth play and features that the PS4 version provides. That said, it's going to take some getting used to...new features to game-play that will require logging some innings to get my skills back to where they were on the PS3 console. Might try directional hitting, too, as I had always been zone guy. Good luck.

The ps4 has 100 more games then x1, and it is an investment for years...he were to get one he would inevitably get more games for it....Also if yor a baseball fan it is worth it for the show.



The ps4 already has bloodborne, the show, uncharted is coming, more indies, better multiplats, GRan Turismo, God of war etc.. are all going to be coming plus new IP's...It would not be just for the show at the end of the day.

Poor assumption that he's interested in anything other than sports games. He's already got an xbox so if he only plays sports games like myself he would literally be getting it for just one game.

It was a big part of why I got a PS3 back in the day to go along with the Blu-Ray option at the time. Also in my case I bought a PS3 so I could keep playing The Show since I had already played The Show '06 on the PS2 and loved every minute of it.

Last gen, I had a 360 for most of the lifecycle, but I went and spent like $200 on a used PS3 a few years before the PS4 came out, just for The Show. During that time I also ended up playing all the Uncharted games and a few other PS exclusives, and then I started buying all the multi-platform games on PS3 rather than 360.

Then, when the new gen consoles came out, I didn't even consider going XBox One. The Show alone is reason enough, but then you factor in the PS4 is just flat out more powerful hardware, so all the multi-platform games are going to be better on PS4. I don't play Halo or any of the Microsoft exclusives so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

If you have the money, then yeah, its the best sports game ever made on a yearly basis. I switched back in 09 to a PS3 from a 360, because of MLBTS only, as I was tired of not having a legit baseball game, and best money every spent. My wife bought me a PS4 a few weeks back just for MLBTS15, and Im amazed at how big a difference the game is from 1 system to another. Even my wife noticed, but with NBA2k15 when we got the PS4, my wife said it looks the same as the PS3 version,lol.


Not only is MLBTS the best sports game every year, these are the best and most honest devs of any sports game. They typically tell things straight up, unlike what you get from the others. Its why I will buy this game day1 each yr as long as I can find the money to pay for it, and now its the only game I will do that with, I have learnt the hard way its best not to buy NBA2k or Madden on day1 ever, cause you never know what you will get or if they will fix things, but with MLBTS it will be fixed if possible.
