I bought my PS3 for The Show and upgraded to the PS4 for the same reason. If you're a fan of baseball and are looking for a good, also the only legitimate, game definitely do it.

Poor assumption he is only interested in sports...also, those same sports games are on PS4 plus he would get the show, with better graphics and performance.....Comment

Disposable income vs. love of baseball simulation.
I'm an older adult with the blessing of having both (to one degree or another), so that's the main reason I jumped to PS platform a few months ago. I have a Wii and Xbox 360 and wanted a nextgen, and I made the switch in order to play The Show. Very happy with my decision so far!Comment

I bought a PS3 for the Show. The year was 12 I believe. I got really into it. I have a PS4 and will be picking up the show this weekend. I skipped last year.

Re: Should I get ps4 just for the show?
I am here to report that I am so happy with my purchased. I am having a blast with this game right now.. only manage to play a couple games so far but last night I went into extra inning (13th) on the road and hit 2 HRs (2 runs bomb & a solo) and won 5-1 lol.
Thanks for all the feedback as now I know that I am not the only one that does this lol. I am not interest in any other games now as I hv the xb1 and most of my friend are xb1 but I do feel ps4 is a more powerful system.Comment

Re: Should I get ps4 just for the show?
I got back into baseball gaming in the fall of 2012. At that time I already owned an XBox 360 and of course picked up the 2k12 game. I was definitely having fun with 2k12, but then all of a sudden I began seeing all these YouTube videos of this other game ... something called MLB The Show ... anyway it did not take that many YouTube videos to see that I was playing the inferior game. So I ran out bought a PS3 console with MLB 12 despite the fact the real baseball season was already winding down.
I did play a lot of MLB 12 games, but MLB 13 was one of my most anticipated acquisitions I have had in a sports game, and even though it too had some warts, that MLB 13 game was a great release.
Last year I bought MLB 14 for the PS3 and then one month later bought a PS4 console and upgraded my MLB 14 software to the PS4 platform. The graphics on the PS4 are better than the PS3 (no comparison) but in some respects I found the MLB 13 game better than MLB 14. But MLB 14 on the PS4 was still a great game.
Fast forward to this year, the arrival of MLB 15 was even higher than what I had for MLB 13. The new graphics lighting effects, the new animations, the new player and AI ball logic are all outstanding additions to an already great game. But all has not been well in Mudville. There are a number of features in MLB 15 that have existed in the MLB 13 or earlier releases and a number of these features are pretty buggy this season or have been downright removed from the game. It's as if there was no regression testing on the MLB 15 game and if the game was regression tested, all the problems were ignored. This is still a great game, but it is the buggiest release I have ever seen since I first jumped into it in 2012.Last edited by My993C2; 04-03-2015, 05:42 PM.Comment
