Does this trade sounds fair ? I am the phillies, the yankees are still in contention at that all star break

    Yankees get: cole hamels

Phillies get: Aaron judge, Luis severino

Is this a good fair trade ? I feel like asking for 2 of their prospects is a lot but hamels is a game changer imo thanks for anyones help and suggestions are welcomed!

Can we get a stat line for Hamels?

Judge and Severino plus another smaller piece then. Refsnyder is probably a bit too much to ask for in the same package but Jose Pirela or Mason Williams should work.

...or thinking out loud that you could pick from Severino or Judge and then go Refsnyder and Greg Bird.

There's a legitimate chance he's not going to trend back upward, too. That's very troubling. Whereas Hamels is on a pretty friendly deal considering the production; good for 200+ innings, right around 200 k's, all with an xFIP under 3.50 and a WHIP under 1.20, and worth about 4.5-5 WAR. This is still an elite ace, and Longoria may not be able to justify a top ten ranking at his own position by the end of the season.
                -EDIT-
Hamels posted a 4.9 WAR in 2011, per Fangraphs. It's being excessively picky to say, "he's never seen 5."
Yes, we are talking about the same players. I've read your other comments on this idea and while I love a good value debate, we are starting from points so different from each other, there isn't much middle ground to agree upon.

Picky on the "never seen 5"? Perhaps. Accurate? Yup.

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread

I ended up scrapping my Rays franchise, as it always takes me one or two teams/times to really get a feel of which organization I want to manage.

Anyways, I have picked up the Astros and am having a great time. I do, however, have my eyes set on acquiring Tyler Naquin & Zach McAllister (as he was demoted to bullpen duties) from Cleveland.

I wouldn't mind unloading Chris Carter, but it doesn't look like the Indians could squeeze him in anywhere. I'd think about Jason Castro (if that seems fair?), as he could make a great backup - and maybe allow Gomes to DH a bit more?

Not sure if either player works, or if I should go in a different different. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone notice how early players start hitting the trade block? I'm on game 5 and already getting notices of players being put on the block. I don't remember this happening this early in 14.

Playing as the Braves and taking over the "rebuilding" process. I made one move so far. Mike Minor is in his last year and is taking up a spot in the rotation for a prospect. So I traded him to the RedSox for prospects Blake Swihart and Jackie Bradely Jr. Boston gets a middle of the rotation starter that has potential to win 15 games. I get a top 50 prospect (in game) in Swihart and a guy who has struggled at the MLB level but is still young w/ potential in Bradely. Boston has Christian Vasquez as their catcher of the future and they seemed to give up on JBJ. Ultimately Bethancourt is my catcher for the future unless Swihart goes off. I probably will flip him to get a legit bat to protect Freddie.

No way Swihart gets dealt for Minor. The only fair deal for the Sox is if they get an ace or a great bat (Freeman). Swihart would never get dealt for a "middle of the rotation" (more like back of the rotation) starter. We already have enough of those, and Swihart is at a position where there is very limited amount of talent.

The problem is Boston doesn't have future catcher outside of Swihart. Catchers are a hard thing to trade away.

If you want Swihart fairly you will need to give up Wiser/Miller and another (few?) top guys. Although if realism is your goal, Swihart isn't moving.

Catchers are just too rare, especially solid hitters.

I don't see Swihart, Susac, Hedges or any other top catching prospect traded.

I was going for somewhat realistic. My thinking was Swihart was gonna rot in the minors behind Vasquez. The computer offered me the trade when I put Minor on the block. I was thinking of sending a starting pitcher prospect w/ B potential.

Swihart>>>>>Vazquez. Cherington and Farrell know it too. When Swihart is ready, he will be the starter, no questions asked. Vazquez will be dealt if anything.

If you wanted to send Teheran or Freeman, this would be a different story.

Ok. First off, Teheran and Freeman are untouchable. I can flip the trade back as I have an earlier save. What would be a good trade for Minor then? I am looking for hitters because I have a ton of pitching prospects
