Players MUST have been called-up to be part of the SCEA rosters

It's actually he has to have played in a game, I think because both Tanaka and Abreu were on Opening day rosters for the Yankees and White Sox respectively.

You don't have to have played in a game, you just have to have service time & have all paperwork approved. Last year Jon Schoop for Baltimore had playing time in MLB in September of 2013 but wasn't on default roster. Tyler Pastornicky had service time in 2011, but didn't play in any games, but was still in MLB 12 The Show, he was on the default roster for Atlanta.

Player has to be on a roster and serve time at the MLB level (regular season) to become part of the players union and be recognized for rosters.

Of course, he could always go the Barry Bonds route and not participate in the union, thus never be in a game.

If you download a created player (e.g. Bryant) from the community vault, will the "real" player replace him once called up to the majors?

There is no roster merge. There will only be 2 Kris Bryants on a given roster if you import him a 2<sup>nd</sup> time yourself after downloading the roster from SCEA. But yeah assuming he actual does play for the Cubs this season (and I am sure he will), he will eventually be added to the rosters SCEA uploads throughout the season.

Yeah sorry - I meant NOT importing the fake Bryant now, and just getting the legit Bryant when they updated the real MLB rosters. I don't want 2 of them, must as I'd love to have 2 of them on my roster.
