Can you turn off GM contracts on year to year franchise?

Sorry if it's been covered, but I didn't see an option to disable it on a continued franchise. Really have zero interest in being forced to be another team.

But the work around is using 30 team control.

Thanks for the reply guys....I'm pretty invested in my Cubs franchise. I simmed ahead 6 seasons(2 3 years GM contracts) and I failed on the first 3 years but was able to remain, however on the 2nd 3 year run I had to choose another team. Overall in the 6 years, I made the play offs 5 times, won the pennant once, but lost in the WS. My worst year was 89-73. I just hate having to win a WS as a goal to keep a job...eapecially with the cubbies.

That's a reasonable goal with the Cubs. Especially over 6 years. By then all of your good prospects should have developed into MLB players. And you have enough money to do well in FA. You have enough prospects and MLBers to make some trades. You should win a WS in 6 years, IMO.

One of the few disappointments for this new version. I wish they would add an option to turn it off.

Is 30-team control a reasonable workaround that only makes owner goals irrelevant but keeps everything else about franchise the way it is? I mean, with 30-team control will the other teams still trade and maintain their teams automatically while I only control one team?

I'm reading a 30-team control guide to learn more about it.

Edit: This guide is for MLB 13 but it seems like you make different settings profiles for each team. How would this interact with the owner goals?

Yes...make 2 profiles....one with your settings for your team...the second with everything to auto....assign that to the other 29 teams.

Thanks. I'll try it when my owner fires me within the next 3 years, haha.

But you can't change to 30 team control once you've already started a franchise, right? This is absolutely terrible news for users like me who didn't enable 30 team control, imported their 14 franchise, and have no interest in ever switching teams.

Along with permanently changing analogue hitting, this is one of those decisions that really surprises me for a development team that usually gets so many things right.

Role play. If your team fires you pretend there was a huge public controversy and then sign with another team in the same division and then make it your life's goal to destroy them.

Im gonna hold you to that WS in the next 6 years I'm pretty sure when playing I'll win one, but I usually turn those options off just because Im pretty tied to my favorite teams.

I guess I just remember NFL 2k5 where seasons in you basically had to win a title ever other year to keep a job. Would be great if some how these could be optioned out.

Thanks for this. I was going to just not use it, but may as well with 30 team.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, is it possible to enable 30 team control when carrying over? Or do the settings carry over exactly from 14? Because I didn't have 30 team control in 14 but would love to enable this for 15

I'm in the same boat and I couldn't find an option to enable 30 team control in an already started franchise. I know in the past you had to make that distinction at the beginning and stick with it.

I was thinking about starting a new one anyway once the OSFM rosters come out due to the newer trade and contract logic. I feel like I cheated the system too much in my current franchise.
