    Zone Hitting

Is anyone else this year struggling with zone hitting? It seems like in 13 and 14 (the two iterations I found most offensively playable out of the box), the game was more forgiving for zone hitting. If you were early with your swing, your PCI would automatically go to the top of the zone to indicate you were in front, and if you were late, the PCI would go to the lower half. This was/is extremely important for getting the high cheese without just moving the PCI there in anticipation.

It feels like offensively, the game has gone back to pre 13 the show in which the game was very challenging offensively using zone. The timing aspect was much improved for 13 and 14, but it seems it may have taken a step back this year. Also is swing influence still in the game for zone??

I was wondering this as well. I also have yet to see a way that you can see where your PCI was on your swing as in other iterations of the game.

If you hold R2 after the pitch, you should be able to see where your PCI was. Sometimes you have to hold R2 and hit left or right on the d-pad also.

Hmm, that hasn't shown up for me. I play with PCI off (visually) so maybe that is causing some sort of problem.

being visually off doesn't cause the PCI location not to show as this is the way I play.

When you swing there is a graphic that is either Red, orangish, or Green that shows how you're timing was with the swing along with feedback early, late, good, etc....

This graphic is where your PCI/swing was on that pitch.

I believe I saw Nemesis say that he was told at CD this hasn't been in for a few years. Could be wrong though.

Did it work well for you last year?

It's been great for me the last few years. You would just hold R2 and point the right Stick before the pitch and the controller would vibrate. Great for sac fly's,HR's and bunting. Wasn't guaranteed, but more times than not it got the job done.

                    Re: Zone Hitting

One of the tips I have been using from Cardinalbird is going into the bat control mode in batting practice. It shows you where the pitch location will be and it has helped me to get better with zone hitting. I used to be absolutely horrible at it. Now I am just ok.

As far as where the PCI is, in last years version I would move the PCI to the ball but the post swing showed my PCI in the middle most of the time. So it seems like it's not that accurate as to where your swing was. At least that was my experience with it.

Ah, didn't quite connect the dots on the one. Thanks.

Then it should work the same for you this year too!

If it didn't work, then why did the controller vibrate? Pretty sure it was listed in the manual too. Guess I hit a magical controller combo.
