The Show 15 vs. The Show 14

So i realize the game has only been out a day (unless youe were lucky and got it earlier) but im wondering what some peoples thoughts are in regards to if they really like this years version over last and if you would consider going back to last years?

Me personally I love the Show 15 in everyway over 14 but i may have to go back to playing 14. Reason being is i have sensitive vision (due to illness several years back) and some of the new cut scenes and the way it jumps around starting really bothering/hurting my eyes after half a game. Example: I was using catcher camera angle for hitting and pitching and medium fielding view for fielding. All was well til i came to bat and when i was making contact it wasnt medium fielding camera anymore, it jumped into more of like a zoom camera. Balls up the middle they just showed me making solid contact and showed a liner up the middle. Balls hit down the line i couldnt see where they were going until either the fielder had it or it was in the OF. Guy on 2nd and couldnt see if it was going thru the hole and etc.

Anyways for this sole reason I may have to jump back to 14 unless its a glitch or something? and this would be unfort. Cause im loving all other aspects of the game.

Like to hear what you guys think?

MLB 14 is hot garbage. You are going to have very few people in this thread agreeing with you if any at all. I have no idea what you are talking about really. If you have sensitive vision or epilepsy the best thing is to keep away from games that make you sensitive. You can also turn off some cutscenes and do your own custom cameras I am pretty sure.

Yea, i can't agree with this.

The trade logic, equipment authenticity, improved fielding and animations are enough for me to stay with MLB 15.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the exact same commentary during the games and I also am not a fan of the Radio Show. After hearing it a few times, I'm done with it.

      The rest is pure gold.

That's a shame, Pal. You just have to do what you got to do. Unless you experience this problem first hand, it's hard to gain a perspective. Hang in there and I hope you can find a setting somewhere to allow you the full experience.

Nope... Not going back. Each year the team amazes me and I find a way for something to work. Hell, I suck with hitting this year and I mean baddddddd!!! The worst I've ever done. Maybe because I'm trying to challenge myself, settings wise compared to when I first started playing. But still won't give up with the game.

As for you, try playing around with different cameras, they have plenty of options for us. See if that helps.

Personally I dont want to go back to 14. And no dont have epilepsy. And i never had issues with past versions of the game. If you can turn off cutscenes can you let me know where i can do this? It would be greatly appreciated!

I love the new graphics enhancements, the new animations and ball physics allow the game to take a step closer to reality. In that regard I am thoroughly enjoying MLB 15. However all is not well in Mudville. Yes we know we are in the minority, but those of us who play "Manage Only Mode" (also known as MoM) games in Season and Franchise mode were told MLB 15 would be unchanged from how it worked in MLB 14. But this is not the case, One of the important tools we use in the mode, the Base "Runners" HUD window has been removed from MoM games. Add on top of that new Defensive Quick Shift feature accessed from the d-pad also does not work in MoM games. These two problems are not enough to drive me back to MLB 14. But needless to say I am disappointed that a tool the "Runners" HUD window that is important to our gameplay has been taken away from us, especially when the SCEA always pride themselves in never take features out of the game. Were these two features intentionally removed or intentionally omitted from the game? Or does SCEA just not bother with regression testing their releases?

It could be worse. Last year they released the game where the pitchers only threw strikes in MoM games.

Ill try that but why would that matter in what it does in the fielding view? As i stated above it plays like last year when im on the field but not when the CPU is!

Not sure about runner HUD, but if it works in a "regular" game and not in MoM, then that sounds like a bug. The Defensive Quick shift is a new feature, so leaving MoM the "same" would mean...

That being said, it would seem that it should be possible to make it available during MoM games.

I was reading through the MoM thread, and it seems like there may be other legitimate issues. Please make sure to make entries in the bug list at the The Show Nation.

The Show 15 vs. The Show 14

So far in 15 the thing i dislike the most is pitch speed, i have my slider set to 10 and fastballs seem very slow and the speed discrepancy between a fb and a cb is massive. I know i need to just keep playing and it may get a bit better but man is rough right now. Im either way to early on all off speed stuff or behind on fbs because the cpu throws soooo much offspeed junk. Online runs smoother but after 4 games last night it seems that the online is still full of all the same clowns stealing, bunting and throwing stuff in the dirt all night long.

Ill give it a few days and wait for some slider sets to release and see if i can get adjusted to the huge pitch speed difference because i went back to 14 and its just a childs game in comparison.

Already done. I raised two separate issues last night (one for the Runners HUD and one for the Defensive Quick Shifts omission).

Plus thanks for the reply. I can't remember for sure if it was you or one of the other SCEA DEVs I talked to last year about the "pitcher only throwing strikes in MoM" defect, but it is nice to see the DEVs here. I am a software developer myself so trust me when I say "I know there is no such thing as bug free" releases.

Looks like Mlb 15 the show will be a rental for me. Several things for me are concerning

Commentary is very much the same as last year.

Most of the animations - the HR trots, pre-game introductions, high-fives after HRs - are the EXACT SAME as last year and even years prior.

Graphics look the same to me. slightly improved lighting from last year's. still not a huge difference between PS3 and PS4 versions, for some reason.

They've had a full year to make this, to fully take advantage of the Ps4's power and this is all they could come up with? Well sorry but seasonal lighting, slightly improved ball physics and a roster update doesn't warrent 60 bucks. If there were significant changes to last years version I'd gladly lay down my money. If you haven't bought it yet wait till next year. If you have then stick it out yet I guess. Like I said I'll rent it and judge for myself maybe buy it when the price goes down. This is the NHL and Madden syndrome all over again and Im not falling for it this time.

You had that bad of an experience with The Show 15? As soon as I started playing the game felt way better than 2014 version or anything on PS3. At least that's my experience with the game.
The Madden and NHL series comparison is laughable

I have last year's version and I'm trying to talk myself into getting this years version. Is it really worth the 60 bucks? Is there really much of a difference from 14 cause I just don't know.
