Just finished May with the 2015 Red Sox and after losing 5 in a row and 6 of 7, we have rattled off wins in 8 of 9 games to bring our record to 32-19 and move 0.5 games ahead of the Bankees. Johnny Cueto and Aroldis Chapman have been well worth the price of a total of 6 solid-good prospects. I didn't have to give up Swihart, Mookie, Owens, Rodriguez, Devers, or Margot. Cueto has an ERA under 1 after 3 starts in a row of 7+ and no runs allowed. Hitting has been difficult but Mookie, Castillo, and newly acquired Jordan Schaefer have me leading the MLB in steals. I'm hitting .270 which is good for 4th in the MLB but am 27th in runs scored. Offense has picked up as of late, as Hanley Ramirez is warming up along with the weather. Mookie is at .300, Pedroia is at .331 and nobody else is above .290. ERA is sitting at 2.07 which is good for 1st in the MLB, but is a little deflated with some incredible pitching the last 2 weeks. I plan on saving a different file and simulating about 5 years into the future to see how great the future is for this club.

Just finished the month of April with 2016 Astros.

Finished the month 16-8, won every series besides tieing a 4 game series with the Angels.

The team as a hole is doing well on offense as we lead the MLB in batting average (.289), hits (250), home runs (33) and slugging percentage (.463)

Offensive player of the month:
Chris Davis .351/7 HR/20 RBI

Pitching has been okay we traded for two new pictures Chris Tillman and Shelby Miller. Miller was outstanding in April.

Top Pitcher:
Shelby Miller 6 GS/5-0/.80 ERA/34 SO

We currently lead the AL West with a game lead on the Athletics

Last night Kluber pitched a gem against me. He had 11 k's. The tribe also had 3 home runs against me. Moss, Swisher, Santana had the long balls. Altuve hit a hanger curve for two run shot. The Tribe end up winning 6 -2. That was the first game of my franchise.

Decided to do something I've never done before. I started a franchise with the A's and will play 2 sim 3 or 5. So far I won the opener with a walkoff HR 3-1. Then my next game I played I was shutout. And to make it worse, 3 of the last 4 games I've simmed, well, they were complete game shutouts. So my offense has been shutout 4 of the last 5 games as I sit at 3-5. I hope that isn't a trend that continues. I'm going to try and make my moves be a little more realistic than my Braves franchise. With simming, I should make it through seasons pretty quickly and the future will really matter. Should be a fun ride.

Marlins vs Diamondback NLCS continues.

Game 3:
Boeve had another solid postseason start. It wasn't as great as his effort in the NLDS, but he gave his team a chance to win. He gave up 2 runs in 6 innings of work, striking out 8.

He left trailing 2-1, but the Marlins rallied against the Arizona bullpen, taking a 6-2 lead before holding on to win 6-4 after the Diamondbacks got a 2-run HR in the 9th off Delabar.


Game 4:
The Marlins came out aggressive in this one and piled up the hits, racking up 13 against Miley. However, the Marlins wasted a lot of those potential runs, scoring just 3 times.

Fortunately, Henderson Alvarez looked like the good version of himself. He had command of his sinker and his big, slow curve to keep the Diamondbacks hitters off balance most of the night. Alvarez did it in usual fashion, not many strikeouts, no walks, and quick innings. He used just over 90 pitches to get the complete game 5-hit shutout. Marlins won 4-0.


Game 5:
Perhaps feeling the desperation, the Diamondbacks pummeled Hector Santiago in the first inning, batting around to start the night and scoring 4 times. This pretty much cemented his absence from the World Series as a starter, should the Marlins make it.

Meanwhile, Jared Weaver was masterful. Like Alvarez the game before, Weaver used changing speeds to induce poor contact and burn through innings rapidly. He threw a complete game, giving up just one run to keep the Diamondbacks alive in a 4-1 victory.



The series shifts back to Miami with the Marlins sending Aaron Sanchez to the mound. Sanchez has been very strong this postseason, so the Marlins have to feel hopeful about ending it right here.

Should the Diamondbacks prevail again, game seven will likely feature Boeve, who's been phenomenal in his first postseason action so far.

The Marlins would rather Boeve start game one of the World Series, however.

Game 6 was a tight, intense affair as both teams were playing hard to achieve their respective goals.

The Marlins did next to nothing against Corbin. They picked up just four hits.

Luckily for the Marlins, they were high value hits. One was a home run by Matt Baldwin. The other was a triple by Chris Taylor, who scored on an RBI single by Donovan Solano.

Add on a stray single and that was it. That was all the Marlins would get. Dave Hernandez made the Marlins look silly, including striking out the side in the 8th.

Aaron Sanchez was just as strong, but the workload of going on short rest was catching up to him. He gutted out 5 innings, and was masterful for those innings, striking out seven and allowing no runs.

The Diamondbacks where constantly trying to kick the door down. They had runners on in many of the innings, picked up 10 hits and a couple walks, but they could not get any key hits until late in the game.

Dominic Leone has been the best reliever in the bullpen this postseason, and he kept that going for the most part. He wore down during his third inning of work and gave up a run to make the score 2-1.

Cody Allen came in with men on second and third and just one out, and picked up consecutive strikeouts to end the threat.

The ninth was more of the same. Paco Rodriguez gave up two singles to put runners on the corners with one out. But he picked up a strike out to put the Diamondbacks to the final out. Campana took second with a stolen base with Cruz just holding the ball for fear of a possible double steal. With just one out to go, it was up the Paco to get Goodwin to end the game and series.

Goodwin hit a hard grounder to third that Santana turned into the final out to send the Marlins to the World Series.

Chris Davis' defense came up big in the inning as he knocked down a ball ticketed for the hole on the right side. While he couldn't start the double play, he flipped to Paco covering for an out. Instead of first and second or first and third with no outs, it was a man on second with one out - likely a significant difference.


The Marlins will face the Tigers in the World Series. Game 1 will feature two power arms: Damian Boeve against Justin Verlander.

We actually weren't that bad the last 36 games. 23-13 since the beginning of June. 2nd place in the Central. 5.5 games behind Pittsburgh. And we currently lead the Wild Card. From June 4th to the 22nd we went 14-3. St Louis did the exact same including 11 straight wins from the 9th to the 20th. STL has since fallen off and is now in 3rd place. They are 1-8 in July.

Player keep stepping up on offense when we need them to. After Sardinas hit .58 in May. Adam Lind pretty much did the same. He ended may with a .270 AVG. He is now at .304. Since June 1st he has hit .357 with 4 HR and 18 RBI. Since June 9th that Jumps to a .381 AVG with a .456 OBP. Ryan Braun was a lot better as well. He ended May hitting .216. He is at .246 now. In June and July he has .286 with 7 HR and 24 RBI with a .363 OBP. Sardinas is still playing great. Hitting .319 with 4 HR. (he had 2 in his career entering the season). Braun is the only current starter hitting under .263. We have the highest team AVG in the majors (.268). 2nd in OBP (.330), 2nd in doubles, 3rd in triples, still only 26th in HR but we have the 6th most runs so we are scoring fine.

Starting rotation is still about the same. Brent Suter has been great. In 12 games he is 7-3 with a 2.59 ERA with 87 IP. Josh Johnson has a 2.96 ERA. But he is 1-4 since he gets no run support. Garza has a 3.19 ERA and Estrada/Fiers both have a 3.15 ERA. We sent Peralta to AAA. Not doing good there either.3-2 with a 4.67 ERA. Might be time for him to start over with a new team.

Bullpen was good. Now it kinda good. But not good enough. Brandon Kintzler has been the best reliever since he came up. 16 IP he has a 2.25 ERA. A 9 to 12 K to BB ration though. Jim Henderson is at 2.95, Fernando Salas at 3.25. Neal Cotts came back up on the 23rd of June. Hasnt been any better than he was thogh. Now has a 7.84 ERA. Sending him back down and calling up Jed Bradley. He has his ERA down to 2.55 with a 46/9 K/BB ratio. Hopefully he can reproduce what he did last year when he had a 1.53 ERA the 2nd half of the season. K-Rod has his ERA up to 3.21. Added another 12 saves, he is now at 29. On pace for 52.

AAA, Austin Beyer is hot again. Now hitting .302 with 12 HR and 54 RBI. Jackie Anthony has a 2.36 ERA. Wei Chung Wang has a 2.61 ERA.

AA, Victor Roache must have heard what i said about him not only being a ****ty AVG hitter but that he also was a ****ty power hitter now as well. He ended may hitting .213 with 3 HR. First game in June he goes 3-4 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. In His 29 games in June/July he has hit .308 with 9 HR, 26 RBI and an OBP of .356. I like it. Not alot going on with pitching in AA. Wirfin Obisp has given up 2 ER in 35 IP out of the pen.

All Star game was a pretty good. AL scored 1 in the top of the first. NL scored 1 in the 2nd. Then they scored 4 in the 4th thanks to a 3 run HR by Yasiel Puig to go up 5-1. But AL came right back in the top of the 5th. Brain Dozier took over for Cano and hit a lead off HR. And then a few batters later JD Martinez replacing Hanley Ramirez hit a 3 run HR of his own to tie the game. Was quite from there as the last couple starters and relievers shut things down until the 9th. Paul Goldschmidt coming in to replace Freddie Freeman hit a walk off HR on the first pitch he saw and the National League wins the all star game 6-5. First win for the NL since 2012.

I started a franchise with the Detroit Tigers. They're formed to win now, but I mainly chose them for the challenge that awaits me once Miguel Cabrera, Vicor Martinez and others retire. Using a play one, sim five method, the Tigers are 24-12, first in the AL Central by about 3 games.

This bullpen.

The Marlins might need to be concerned with the relievers more than any of their starters.

First two games of the World Series have gone the Marlins' way, but if it's possible to feel nervous with a 2-0 lead, this might be the time.

Game 1 saw the Tigers rally from a 3-1 deficit to tie it 3-3. It took a pinch hit HR from Matt Baldwin in the bottom of the 9th to secure the win.

Game 2 almost saw 8 shutout innings from Henderson Alvarez go down the tubes. Chris Davis hit a HR to make it 5-0 heading into the 9th. The runs seemed "unneeded" at the time...but they needed every single one of them as Lowe hit a grand slam to make it 5-4. Cody Allen ended up with the save after Dominic Leone's first bad postseason outing and Paco Rodriguez being bad as he's prone to do now and then.

In both games, Paco Rodriguez was unable to close down the game. This has to be a concern going forward.

Hector Santiago will not start in Game 3. This would be his turn, but manager Don Mattingly is going with the ultra finesse Clay Huff instead, though he'll probably be on a short leash.

Though, with the way the bullpen is playing, they might just ask Huff to go until he collapses, his arm falls off, or the game is over, which ever happens first.

I'm now into my fourth year of a two player franchise on one system against my brother. Im the Phillies and he's the Brewers. we're using one of the OSFM rosters (don't remember which update exactly) We both like being bad teams and making them good so we chose those two. We're playing the franchise on experienced and our in game difficulty is All- Star and we play one and sim 10 since there's two of us on one system. After three years were both trying to find a way to make it harder, not the gameplay but the roster movement. After three years I've won the World Series twice and he's won once. Currently my lineup goes

Even with all of this we still both have lots of potential A's in our minors such as Cory Seager, JP Crawford( high B), Dylan Bundy, Tyler Kolek, Joc Pederson and some others. At this point our teams have gotten so good that it is no longer all that fun. Does anyone know how to make it challenging, any settings or something?

The lowest overall rated players that you have are 88. Realistically most teams aren't going to have maybe one or two players rated 90 or above, if they have any at all. You have full lineup's and rotations filled with them. The game isn't going to be fun when you have teams that are that good. Just try to make realistic trades, that you think real teams would make and you will find the games a little more realistic. 1 or 2 star players and several good role players usually makes for a good team.

Slowly approaching the 2015 All-Star Break for my Pirates, and it's becoming ever evident that if I wanted to make a move at the deadline, I won't be moving for pitching. My staff ERA is a dry 2.68, a full half earned run lower than the rest of the league! What's even crazier is my AAA rotation is sitting at almost the same mark! Pitching is winning the division right now for the Pirates, as my highest average on team is shared at .294 by Gregory Polanco and Neil Walker. This is the most up to date I've been in The Show since I first started playing the series in The Show 11. I'm excited to see what the 2nd half has in store for these guys, I'm hoping for an improvement in hitting from McCutchen (hitting .264) and Marte (hitting .264 as well). Can't wait to continue this thing in my next set of free time!

Im starting over. Pitchers are way to OP even in just the 3rd year. Not a single team over 3.88 ERA compared to 10 in real life last year. Gonna change a lot of ratings and test it out.

Game 3:

The move to Clay Huff paid off in spades.

The finesse lefty beguiled the Tigers through 6 2/3 innings of work, allowing 1 run and 4 hits despite just 3 strikeouts.

This was enough to outduel Tigers starter Porcello, giving the Marlins a 3-1 lead through seven innings.

This time, the bullpen held up. Delabar struck out three of the four batters he faced while Rodriguez held on for the save, though he did issue a walk to put the tying run on base.


Game 4:

Backs against the wall, the Tigers came out swinging. Aaron Sanchez was cruising along, looking like he was on his way to another fine playoff outing. But then the 6th inning happened. The Tigers would use a D.J. Peterson 2-run HR and a Golson 3-run double to mount a 6-run attack and give the Tigers a 7-2 lead.

Anibal Sanchez didn't blink and the Marlins would go on to lose 8-3.

Aaron Sanchez was doing his usual thing and racked up the K's, nine in 5 2/3 innings, but he tired and Mattingly stayed with him too long.



Game 5:

Damian Boeve would take the mound as the rookie looked to add winning a World Series elimination game to his stellar rookie season.

The Marlins jumped all over Smyly, going up 7-0 after just the second inning. Smyly was removed and the turned to Billingsley to try to keep things under control.

Meanwhile, the Tigers never gave up. They got a couple here, a couple there, and Boeve was gone in the 6th after allowing 5 runs. Tigers were back in the game at 7-5.

Cody Allen took that lead through the 7th, but the bullpen struck again. Nate Jones coughed up a 2-run HR to Miguel Cabrera in the 8th to tie the game at 7-7.

Billingsley was in the whole time, shutting down the Marlins offense.

Game would head into the 10th inning tied 7-7.

The Marlins finally remembered how to hit and Baldwin, another rookie with a fine season, hit a 2-run HR, his second of the game and 5th of the postseason, to give the team a 9-7 lead in the 10th.

Running out of pitchers, Mattingly had to turn to the guy he kicked out of the World Series rotation, Hector Santiago, to get the save.

Santiago put any ill feelings he may have had aside and nailed down the 10th to give the Marlins a 4-1 World Series win.

All nine of the RBI came from two players, Giancarlo Stanton (5), and Matt Baldwin (4).


Catcher Tommy Cruz won the Playoff MVP award. He batted .437 with 2 HR and 5 RBI in the playoffs.

OF Matt Baldwin got the World Series MVP. He batted .538 with 4 HR and 7 RBI in the Fall Classic. Two of those HR directly gave the Marlins the win or the lead late in the game.
