first mlb game in a long time: rtts vs. franchise

Hey guys, i'm more of diamond dynasty kind of guy, but i'd like to dedicate some time to an additional mode. I don't really know what the difference between franchise and rtts is?

1. in rtts, i can use my created player from diamond dynasty??
2. Can i still do trades like in typical franchise modes?

RTTS is essentially career mode. As for your ?'s, no & no.

No and no.


RTTS is where you create a guy, play three games in which you are evaluated, and then get drafted. Once you're drafted, you have to climb your way to the majors.

Franchise is where you control a team and do the tasks of a GM.


One thing you could do before starting a franchise is to create your player, put him on the team that you want to use in franchise, then once you begin, go to lineups and turn on player lock. It's like doing RTTS, except you decide where you want to start, how fast you want to progress, and also do trades and stuff for your team.

I have always preferred franchise. Although, I always create and usually get to the majors with a RTTS guy.

With year-to-year saves, there is now more time to invest in each mode to get farther along into them.
