    Zone Hitting Tips?

Hi guys- I am new to The Show and have been playing with zone (PCI On). I would use timing but I do not like the way you have no control over where the PCI sits.

Do you guys have any tips on how to use the PCI. The way I see it we have three options..

    1. Leave PCI in the middle and try to only swing at pitches thrown in that area.

    2. Move PCI to an area you want to focus on and swing if the pitch is in that area. (Place PCI in an area before the pitcher releases the ball)

    3. Try to move PCI in the area of the pitch, after the pitcher lets go of the ball. (I am not skilled enough for this)

So my thought was that I will try to pre-place the PCI in an area of the zone that I want to hit, unless it is a 3-1, 2-0, etc, count and I will just leave the PCI in the center, or slightly up to stay on top of the fast ball...

Any tips, guys? I feel a thread like this could really help many of us who are new to The Show, or just struggling to hit.

    Thanks!

This video from Cardinalbird5 helped me out. It's based on MLB14, but most still applies. My suggestion is to do the batting practice alot. Learn to recognize the pitcher delivery and practice moving the pci to the ball. In batting practice use the bat control mode.

Yeah try watching my video and there is a link in the description that has all the details. Everything still applies to zone hitting on MLB 15.

I like to keep the PCI covering the bottom of the strike zone pre pitch. I then try to track the ball and move the PCI accordingly. Personally I feel more in control when I have to just move the PCI up as opposed to leaving it in the middle and moving it up or down. You're thought of leaving it in one place and only swinging at pitches in that location is something that I occasionally do on 0-0 counts and other hitters counts. I used to play timing and switched to zone and my results have been much better, but it took some time to adjust. I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Curious if you are experiencing what I am. When I first started playing I was thinking wow its tough to hit, but then I noticed that I am hitting it alot, it's just that it always goes to where the cpu can easily catch it.

If you are swinging and missing thats a different thing.

OMG the camera angle made ALL the difference for me!!! I thought getting back further would be better, the incorrect logic being: more reaction time?? LOL But moving up to catcher3 totally shows the ball better. And yeah, I was one of those players who wanted to see the cool batter animations of my hitter -- uh, why again???

Now that I'm actually getting POSITIVE scores in Good At-Bat Training, I'll keep watching your other vids, hopefully will start getting medals!!

You're not a bad guy for a Cards fan!

p.s. - should be a great year in the NL Central, man!! Hoping my Cubs give you a run for the division this season!!

Im like this but I have it at the top of the zone. For me its hard to get a hold of high fastballs in time so I start off at the top. Most low pitches I see tend to be offspead so i have time to move the stick down.
