It definitely doesn't allow it every time. This was a pretty specific situation that set up really well for it.

Like I posted upthread, I see people try it all the time in DD and the 1B is usually well off the bag recieving the throw.

I've tried it a few times out of curiosity and each time my first baseman has been WAY off the bag, even more so than last year.

Must need to be a perfect storm for it to work.

Yeah, my attempt at it was basically one step beyond "curiosity" - as I said, I had a no-hitter going and said "ah, what the hell, I'll try it". Was so shocked that it actually worked - it was even a yellow throw on Pure Analog (sometimes those throws are off-line).

As I posted earlier in the thread it was never made impossible. I made a community challenge of Bautista throwing Butler out from RF last year. In order to post it you have to complete it successfully yourself. It is do-able but like others say, its infrequent and 1B gets pulled off a lot or he doesnt cover. Although when I set up my challenge it only took 4 trys to do it successfully.

It happens. The CPU did it to me in a DD game.

LOL. I think I'd be so salty over that if it happened to me in DD.

Ya I had the same as you I had a no hitter and they hit the ball to RF and I threw the guy out at first
