I'm at a disadvantage using my preferred gameplay style?

I use Pulse Pitching and Analog batting.

I notice that all the top players online using Zone hitting w/buttons and meter pitching. They can camp a zone on the strike zone and get giant rewards in hit power when someone eventually has to throw to that position.

This is something I can't do with analog hitting. The CPU just decides for me whether I got good contact or not and the ball is never hit hard unless the pitch is down the center.

Same with Pulse. I can't control anything like in the other modes.

Am I at a disadvantage using my favorite gameplay style? Should I force myself to learn the competitive styles (zone hitting/meter pitcher)

    Honestly yes.

I consider myself a EXTREMELY good hitter and have been playing The Show since 06.

Zone Hitting, Meter Pitching is the ultimate way to play in my opinion.

If you mix it up, they won't be camping for long.

You admitted to not having control over where you swing, wouldnt it be quite obvious then that youre at a disadvantage?

Hmmm, I guess maybe all the control schemes aren't balanced like it was said in one of the livestreams?

You can easily use zone with analog hitting.....

Zone has always been the preferred way to hit by top players because they have full control of their PCI. Figure out their weaknesses and exploit it. It shouldn't be too hard if they are only sitting one spot, which most do sit middle or low.

Directional Hitting and Pure analog you do not have to worry about aiming your PCI, but on the flip side you won't have as much control. I think it is balanced. Last year there was no real advantage of using zone+analog, but this year they all have their pros/cons.

The problem is most people just want to throw low fastballs with low offspeed and a lot of zone users will sit low. Mix in high fastballs, high curves, and sliders. Also try pitching middle in with 2 seamers and sinkers. Some of the best hitters have weaknesses middle in because they can't react naturally to that spot.
