Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
Is it? Although I'm sure there is no record of it, I'd be curious to see the draft order. Partly to see if I can reproduce it, and partly because I want to play with this team.Comment

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
He might have traded actually, not to familiar where Machado usually gets drafted... Cause you can get Stanton, Upton and Harper easily, Harper usually is a 4th round pick, maybe Machado was his 3rd rounder or 5th and his 3rd was his SS .. Could be wrong thoComment

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
Anyone have any tips on fantasy drafts? Or opinions on how they like to draft? I am always stuck, I want to draft a team that has solid hitting and great pitching. Any Ideas?Comment

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
Fantasy drafts are the best and easiest way to stack a team beyond belief. The cpu has no idea what to do and maybe one or two teams end up being solid. Fantasy draft has never been a challenge to compete.Maple Leafs ][ Blue Jays ][ Raptors ][ Bears

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
The CPU draft towards a strategy, say they get Kershaw #1, they spend their next 2-3 picks drafting more high quality starters and closers. While if a computer team drafts say Miguel Cabrera their team will be way better at batting.Comment

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
I've played both fantasy draft and "real" roster and even though I'm playing "real" now I can honestly say I found my fantasy draft more interesting. That being said, my usual draft strategy is as follows:
Overall: Youth and long term sustainability are key.
Starting pitching: Depth is more important than having 1 ace with several duds. I want a solid pitcher out there every game.
RP: Not as important. A SP can always be a RP, but not the other way around. This is usually the area where I pick up some old regressing vets in the late rounds.
CP: Having a solid CP sets the tone for the rest of your bullpen. Also, don't be afraid to draft more than 3 CPs. A CP can always be a RP, but it's not always true the other way around.
Catcher: I prioritize defense over offence. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or fact, but I find having a good defensive catcher will help my pitchers.
1B defense isn't as big of a deal, look for height and hitting.
Middle infield (2B, SS) I again prioritize defense. SS needs to be good at every defense category including speed, but you can sacrifice some arm for your 2B.
I personally find 3B to be the most underrated position in baseball, and I try to get an 5-tool stud or a top prospect playing 3B.
RF arm. There is also a lot of power available in right field. Most people get Stanton in the first round. What he lacks in speed he makes up for in youth, arm, and power.
CF speed. Need to run down those fly balls. Your CF is the most important position defensively in the outfield.
LF Dealers choice. While I'm starting to be convinced of the value of an excellent defensive LF in real life, I still think you can get away with whatever in LF in the show. Look for an offensive tool (Contact, Power, Speed) whatever the rest of your team is lacking.
Again in the outfield, CF can always be RF or LF, but it's not necessarily true the other way around.
If your AL keep that DH spot in mind. If your NL remember that pitching depth is slightly more valuable.
And that's my draft strategy in as few words as I could.Comment

5 - Freddie Freeman (1B)
6 - Ryan Howard (DH)*
7 - Torii Hunter (RF)

Re: MLB 15 the Show Fantasy Draft
I went a little nuts.
Default Rosters - ON
Forced Trades - ON
Instant Trades - ON
CPU Trades - ON
Ignore Budjets - ON
DH for NL - ON
I did an auto draft then traded virtually everyone for current and ex-Mets.
SP:
Tom Seaver, Matt Harvey, R.A. Dickey, Zach Wheeler, Jacob deGrom, Collin McHugh, Jon Niese, Raphael Montero
RP:
Darren O'Day, Joe Smith, Jerry Blevins, Jenry Mejia, Juerys Familia, Bobby Parnell, Alex Torres, Carlos Torres, Vic Black, Josh Edgin, Gonzalez German
CP:
Francisco Rodriguez
C:
Mike Piazza (had to make him), Travis d'Arnaud, Anthony Recker
1B:
Lucas Duda, Ike Davis
2B:
Dan Murphy, Jordany Valdespin, Dilson Herrera
3B:
David Wright, Justin Turner
SS:
Jose Reyes, Wilmer Flores, Reuben Tejada
LF:
Cliff Floyd, Michael Cuddyer
CF:
Carlos Gomez, Juan Lagares, Eric Young jr.
RF:
Carlos Beltran, Curtis Granderson
There were some guys I left out cause they were out of minor league options. And there were some Legends (Yogi Berra, Orel Hershiser, Nolan Ryan) that I could have added but the team was already stacked so I left them off.Comment
