Y2Y saves (computer AI)

I know this may sound strange, but I continued a season from 14 using the OSFM Hybrid set and noticed how the computer wasn't playing to its level. For example, I played a few games on default legend and I was striking them out at a high rate. They hardly scored. I was in games like 1-0 and 3-1. I was feeling good about myself and saying legend isn't so tough. But then I decided to start a fresh franchise using SCEA's roster. All of a sudden, I was getting shelled. I was giving up 5 and 6 runs the first few innings. I could hardly hit. The game was playing like I remember on the legend difficulty. So I'm not sure if the roster change was the cause of the increased AI or something in the Y2Y saves where the difficulty seemed nerfed in some way. Just curious if anyone else noticed this oddity.
