What was the BIGGEST MOTIVATOR to make u go from 14 to 15 this year?

Just curious as I am really on the fence this year with MLB 15. Each year I have bought the game day 1 because I get caught up in all the hype and positive forum excitement from reading everyone's posts of how amazing the new version of the game is....then I realize that after playing about 8-10 games or so, I realize that I feel like I made a mistake and really dont feel like the game made much of an worthwhile improvement for me to have dropped another $64 on the game


So this year, before I once again fall victim to the hype, I ask all of you that have purchased MLB 15 and also own MLB 14, to please tell me in all honesty if you really feel it was worth it this year for you and.... if so,what specific features made the difference for you to really say this was worth the full price purchase?

For those of you that may slightly regret the purchase now that you've had some time to play and some of the glitz has worn off, can you also tell me that too....and possibly why as well?

This will be really helpful for me to help guide my decision....and hopefully for others too that are on the fence.

For me, post-purchase, it's the quality of the changes and the freshness of the game as a whole that stand out.

Usually new iterations feel more or less like last year's game, but better. This year, a few things are so much better that I'd consider the impact drastic.

First, the lighting and colors are so different that the stadiums, players, and backgrounds all look incredibly lifelike and like new.

Second, the pitch trajectories make the hitting experience totally different. I feel like this is the first time that pitch types are represented realistically, and I'm drawing record numbers of walks as a result.

Third, fielding has been overhauled and is both fun and well-balanced for the first time ever, imo. I always auto-field, and this year I'm totally immersed in manual fielding. It's an amazing experience.

There's other stuff, like balancing QC and greater flexibility with DD tha's also significant, but those three things alone make 15 way different than any previous iteration.

It came out. I like a lot of the features, the enhancements, it always gets better.

2 quick questions

In previous versions, I never really felt that the fielder attributes demonstrated enough of a differentiation and variety in fielding outcomes. Having an Ozzie Smith (rangiest SS ever) or a Daniel Murphy playing out of position at SS really didnt make of a difference in the outcomes.,....All infielders would make these acrobatic cross body, backhanded snags and throw in motion mid air routinely....Which started getting annoying.

2nd question, can you now view historical stats, standings, boxscores, playoff results, league leaders, and awards from previous seasons in your franchise?...is there like some sort of HISTORY or BASEBALL ALMANAC section in your franchise where you can view all the data and stats from the seasons you've played?.....Baseball is all about compiling stats, and I think this should have always been in the Show but never was???

Sorry 1 more, Are there more pop up factoids and Stat displays during a game?....MLB 2K Baseball did this very very well (about the only thing that was good in 2K Baseball)

Low stirrups. Really. But I assumed the Cardinals low stirrups would have stripes. That was a mistake.



It's still all good, though. I had thought and set up a soft timeline to buy a PS4 around the time 15 came out in order to maximize PS4 ownership time and giving the games a year to catch up.

I had planned to stick with 14 for awhile, but I caved on Wednesday. So my resistance lasted all of a day.

My reasons:

• Improved visuals
• Updated rosters (I'm a Braves fan and they had a busy offseason)
• Schedule issue fixed in year 2
• SCEA's track record of improving the game each year
• I'm weak

Was it worth it? Honestly, I probably need a few more days with 15 to answer that. I'm enjoying 15, no doubt. It's a great game. But I loved 14 as well. And I was really enjoying my Braves dynasty on 14. Thankfully, I still have that file saved, so I may need to try the Y2Y feature and bring back J-Hey, Upton and Beachy.

I have '14 on ps3, I now have a ps4 sooooo...
But this game is amazing and the more I play '15 the more I like... They've added so many little things to '15 that I don't believe were in '14. Many things you just have to experience.

This may be fine once in a while or maybe more than once an awhile with a very rangy and talented fielder, but not for your basic run of the mill infielder.

Cpu still makes way to many acrobatic playes. Tons in the few games I have played. 20 or so games and acrobatic is routine.

Commentary is the same as previous years plus a few minor additions. It's horrible. Seems they couldn't care less about us when it comes to this.

No historical stats saved
There are no Stat pop ups except your normal stats.

The framerate improvement. although it still isn't fully fixed its much better than 14

Honestly, seeing it for £36.99 on Playstation Store. I could not turn that price down. I would have bought it a month later as I've bought the last 6 games haha.

The lighting was a close second. It makes the game look truly spectacular.
