During the Giants/Royals game that we are forced to play when starting the game up for the first time (drove me insane - I'd rather just watch a loading bar, but thats another story), I got bored and angry, and after about the 3rd inning, just bunted on the first pitch with every batter. There were multiple innings where I scored 2-3 runs by a combination of bunt hits, sacrifices, and errors by the CPU.

Crazy efficient compared to reality.

I've had some success limiting bunt hits by lowering runner speed and increasing infield arm strength.

Yep I'm seeing this too.

The quality of bunt contact seems way too good.

It's funny, because I remember complaining in previous years about how bunts needed to be more reliable, for the past few years (but for the record, I didn't want more bunt hits, just fewer bunt pop-ups/fouls)

But now it seems like literally every bunt goes right down the line. Sliders can minimize the issue by slowing runners down, but there's no slider for the actual quality of bunt contact, and it's quite weird seeing great bunts laid down on a constant basis, even if you end up throwing them out.

I don't think fielding and slow reactions play any role in this, though. I'd place the blame almost entirely on ratings... As someone else above pointed out, the bunt ratings don't seem to matter enough.

The CPU just lead off the bottom of the 8th in my RTTS by bunting for a hit while winning 12-0!!! There has to be some sort of way to keep them from doing this, but I guess not.

Sounds like the bunt ratings could be possibly broken. Has this been mentioned in the bug report?

Have to agree. I feel like i'm cheating if I bunt at this point.

Bunting is flat out broken.

If I see another player with 20 in bunting make a perfect suicide squeeze down the 1st base line when he's doing it on a 98mph 4-seamer UP IN THE ZONE, I'm going to scream.

It happens way too regularly.

This is no different than how it's been. I've always understood that it is easy as hell to bunt in The Show.

This is not true. Last year was MUCH different than how it is now. Last year was easy but it wasn't automatic.

I'm LITERALLY bunting with players with NO bunting attributes practically at all.

The bug appears to be that the attributes take have no effect. Still would love a working slider for this.

Wouldn't hurt to try. I remember a few years ago (2011 or 2012), throwing a runner out at 1B from RF was too easy and they patched it to where it was close to impossible to do.

And the problem is this breaks the game completely because of the suicide squeeze. It's 100% effective every time it's ran.

And in close games, you lose.

The "other baseball game" no longer being made actually had a separate slider set for bunting and work well.

In the show in recent years you would get pop ups to pitcher, foul balls etc but this year every single bunt this year goes fair. ow in only speaking for head to head games online not sure if it is the same way offline in a game vs CPU.

Someone needs to play a game where they would try to win by only bunting. I think it's possible, with a good pitching performance.
