I have always wished they would put in a bunt slider difficulty, because as you said bunting has always been too easy, and IRL it seems anymore that hardly anyone is good at bunting. If Billy Hamilton ever figures it out, he may bat .500, with his speed, lol.

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
I have a guy with 91 speed with an extra +7 speed on my equipment. He is a contact hitting CF so he has decent bunting ratings by default (I think about 60) and last night I tried to bunt for a hit twice and was thrown out both times.Comment

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
Only problem with a slider is it attacks the problem globally. So players who actually can bunt are affected as well. My first preference would be for the ratings to actually determine the ability. If not then the slider route would be the next best thing.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
The CPU just bunted successfully against me three times in four at-bats with zero outs, up 3-2. Players with bunt/drag bunt/speed skill ratings of 57/53/78, 29/18/41, 42/44/68 beat out my throws. Each bunt was perfectly executed: bunts down the 3rd base line or a bunt between the 1st baseman/Pitcher.
This is the third time in 10 games that I've seen the CPU bunt with bases loaded.
I'm feeling a little frustrated with the bunting in this game.Comment

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
Bunting was absurdly easy last year and it's even easier this year.
I've had 4 bunt singles in 2 games. In fact, I've only been thrown out at first ONCE in 5 attempts while bunting.
It would be nice to see a developer come in here and say they acknowledge the issue and that it's being worked on, seeing as it's been a problem in the game for the past 3 years. Again, if you're going to market having the most realistic sports game ever, bunting for a hit 75% of the time seems to negate that.Comment

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
During the Giants/Royals game that we are forced to play when starting the game up for the first time (drove me insane - I'd rather just watch a loading bar, but thats another story), I got bored and angry, and after about the 3rd inning, just bunted on the first pitch with every batter. There were multiple innings where I scored 2-3 runs by a combination of bunt hits, sacrifices, and errors by the CPU.
Crazy efficient compared to reality.Comment

Re: Bunting for hits too easy?
Yeah, they need to do something about the bunting immediately. Basically weaker players are building teams with all speed and then bunting for all their runs. These guys cannot hit to save their lives but once they have a guy on base, they can easily steal 2nd, 3rd and all they need is another bunt or hit at that point to score.
They need to somehow make it so that bunting is difficult unless the player has a very high bunt stat or the ball comes down the center of the plate.
Actually playing the game legitimately produces tons of pop flies and line outs rather than scores.Comment
