I need a little Baserunning help.

Hi all I am having a real problem ( I know I have said this before), the baserunning in this game has some serious logic problems. As an example runner on first and a ball hit to the outfield for an easy and obvious single, why is the man on first headed back to first. I have had numerous guys forced out at 2nd because of this. The same seems to happen on a lot of grounders too. Also don't get me started on the logic with 2 outs. Why would you ever go back to a base with 2 outs when contact is made??? Is there anyone out there that can explain how to stop the first part from occurring? (Russell maybe?) Is there a setting to change or something? Don't get me wrong I love The Show but at times it wants to make me throw my controller.. They say it is the little things they get, but IMHO this is a pretty big thing to keep happening year to year..

    Thanks for your time

As soon as I hit the ball and I think it may drop I'm holding L1. That usually gets my guy around second and heading to third before the batter gets to first, that way I can let go of L1 after he passes second so I have runners at the corners.

Not to be crude but it sounds like a lot of user error so you're going to need to give us a little more help here.

What baserunning method are you using? Sounds like you are queuing these decisions up (not intentionally) because I can assure you the CPU isn't doing them automatically.

To me targeting runners and cueing them to specific bases is the mot efficient way to get them around the basepaths. I get in trouble when I jut L1 runners around the bases.

I don't think you are being crude at all.. I am using assisted because I don't see a completely manual mode. As soon as contact is made I am tapping the L1 or L2 button to advance but it seems like the runner has already made a dive back to the base he starts from so loses any forward momentum he might have had. It seems that they are heading back in anticipation of a ball being caught either line drive or fly ball.. I can't count how many times I have had a runner on first thrown out at second on clean hit usually to center or right. Hope this info helps. I will update if I see my settings are different. This has happened in exhibition and DD games. Have not tried franchise yet until I can figure out what I am doing wrong..

I use the exact same settings and don't see this problem. Not really sure how to help.

Do you do anything after contact with the controller?

the only thing I use is L1 or R1 when needed...

Thanks for your help.. I'll keep trying and see if I can figure out what I am doing wrong... Maybe I am doing something and not realizing it..
