    Retired numbers

Is there any way that future editions can have the option to turn off retired numbers? I only play historic rosters and it takes away from some amazing rosters when players cannot have there correct numbers. Especially the Yankees. As baseball is such a game of history, having historic players in their correct numbers just seems fitting. Any thoughts from the OS community?

Seems like it would be easy enough to have an "allow retired numbers" on/off switch.

The NHL series offers that option. So obviously it can be done.

To test for this I created a player, named him Ryne Sandberg and gave him 23, and the game maintained his number in the roster. Didn't switch him to 22, 24, or 25.

Did the same with Jackie Robinson and 42, so they must have made it so the actual player who had the number can still have it, but nobody else.

Yes that player can use his retired number. But for example Graig Nettles cannot use #9, only Roger Maris can for Yanks. This truly puts a damper on using a great '78 roster set.
