That can't be the case within the first two weeks of my RTTS they traded a 1b for 2b when the 2b already on the team was better than the one traded for. Also it meant the 1b position dropped by 6 points with the backup starting. Then a few days later traded the best pitcher for a young SS when there were already 2 B level SS on the major league team rated 80 and 78. The trade logic is far far worse this year. Even a drunken monkey wouldn't make these moves.

I made my annual second baseman for the Kansas City Royals and was so excited to play on this team with this exciting new roster of players. In the first week they traded Alex Rios and Wade Davis. I thought crap but kept plugging away. Got called up and were on a tear then in a 3 day span they traded , Yordano Ventura, Greg Holland, Sal Perez, Danny Duffy, Alex Gordon, Brandon Finnegan and Lorenzo Cain. Had enough so begged for a trade myself and was sent to the Indians

Have a SS with the Mariners. Couple weeks after have I got called up to the MLB, SEA trades Felix Hernandez for Justin Verlander and a couple prospects. A week or so after that, they trade Cano for Espinosa and a couple prospects.

I am playing in the Cardinals System and in 2015 the two major pieces they have traded away were Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn. They traded Lynn for Hyun-Jin Ryu straight up. I think I may have also lost a starting position player. Possibly Adams but I can't really remember right now.

The trade logic is broken. It seems it always will be. I don't know what is keeping them fixing it.

No its not. If it were broken there would be no trades. I really wish this word would cease to exist in these forums.

How about instead we say the trade logic is not always logical

A simple 'Decline Trade' button would be a godsend. Nothing more demotivating than starting up a player and within two weeks your organization has zero hope in you, trades for a super star at your position, and trades away the cover athlete for a pitching prospect. It's game breaking, honestly. The trading is far too aggressive and if they can't fix it atleast let us prevent the ones we think would hurt the team.

I wish it would tell us if the Organization was in rebuild mode or trying to make a playoff push like in the older games. I know It never did anything but It kinda made me believe in what the team was doing and that the moves the teams were making were more believable even though they weren't.

SCEA needs to put an end to this somehow.
                          NFL : Atlanta Falcons
                          MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

RTTS Trade logic a bit off?

In my RTTS (also with Toronto) they overhauled the roster too. I was a corner infielder (started at 3rd, they moved me to 1st to play when I got called up and now I'm back at 3rd) and the Jays traded all of the veterans for young players.
Josh Donaldson was traded for Joc Pederson and a prospect.
Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista were traded to the Cubs for Jorge Soler and a pitching prospect.

In 2016, this core of Me, Soler, Pederson, and some other corner infielder that I think is game generated (Johan Cora, 23, B potential) along with Aaron Sanchez, Chris Tillman (signed from Baltimore) and Marcus Stroman won a World Series. The game actually put together a strong, young, sustainable roster.

I was pretty stoked the CPU made a bunch of trades that made sense. They traded older players for great young talent and made a core that included my RTTS player.

However, it took several tries to sim through the 2016 offseason to get through without the game making stupid trades. For instance, Jorge Soler was traded several times for the likes of Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez and Robinson Cano. There was one offseason sim where Soler, Pederson and Sanchez were all involved in a trade that brought in... You guessed it: Josh Donaldson and Zach Greinke. It made no sense at all. Obviously I just kept trying. Eventually I got one where the Jays made no trades and signed a single decent free agent. I rolled with that one and am in the new season.

The trade logic is very hit and miss. Keep a lot of staggered saves, and save a new one every couple of weeks to prevent the majority of bad trades. Have a few backups for the back half of July.

The problem is that teams will not trade their young cost controlled players who are already as good or better than the older very expensive players they are getting back. It's like I posted above. It's void of any common sense at all.

Sadly I don't think contracts matter either. I went and adjusted all the Dodgers roster players contracts to be 10yrs each and the cpu still traded Clayton Kershaw. Only way I have found around the trade logic is to create multiple saves every week and try to sim past it when a trade happens. More time spent restarting the game rather than playing it!

I am sure this is the way the developers want their users to experience their game!
