Very disappointed to see that this is STILL an issue in RTTS. This (an abnormal amount of bunts for hits, esp. by middle of the lineup players) has been a noticeable problem in RTTS (strange is only affects this mode) for at least 4 years now. Maybe longer.

It's been an issue in previous games as well. The CPU doesn't recognize star players from the rest.

Another problem is the CPU overmanaging at times. If Miguel Cabrera or any star player that isn't fast gets on base in later innings, don't be surprised if the CPU substitutes a pinch runner for them. It's especially frustrating in extra inning games.

I had an outfielder last year and do not remember seeing this issue.

It only happens if you're playing 1B, 3B or C. I'm playing SS and have seen 0 bunt fielding attempts in close to 100 games. Probably the same with 2B. Obviously OF will not see any bunt fielding attempts.

Sorry if I'm misreading but that seems like a perfectly logical call to make if the CPU is down a run or two. If the tying or winning run is on 1st or 2nd I'd much rather have the threat of a steal or even single getting a run. Keeping my slow power threat in the game to possibly double up or get caught at the plate just to take the chance he might have a another at bat especially in extra innings is very risky.

And as for the bunts maybe the AI is taking the pundits advice and playing against the shift by bunting lol.

Is it a specific problem with being an infielder in RTTS? Does it still happen if you are an outfielder?

You might see them in the outfield if you played with Result Play where you see the outcome of every at bat whether or not you are part of it. I play Classic so only see plays I am involved, so that's why I moved to the OF so I don't see the bad bunts anymore because they really are annoying. I don't watch the simmed play summaries close enough to see if the bad bunting happens while the game is skipping to my next at bat or not.

I've had Trout try to bunt for a hit before. This game goes a little overboard on that in RTTS. As a first baseman it seems I see about 3 to 5 attempts per game by the other team.

Fyi it's not totally unheard of for Trout to try to bunt for a hit IRL. Not common but not unheard of.

On that note I don't know what I am doing differently but the CPU has attempted to bunt for a hit only a few times on me. Much more toned down than in the past.

Bunting while on defense in RTTS is happening about 2-3 per game from what I have seen. Brandon Moss beat out a bunt. Are you kidding me?
