So yeah I tried this on Wednesday and yeah I noticed it. When you select a pitch the grass goes form looking 3d to looking 2d.

Yeah it's no big deal just something you notice.

Interestingly it doesn't happen when watching CPU v cpu.

Not a game breaker to me either but I do hope it's being caused by something easily patchable as it can take one out of the game with how jarring it is at times.

I play on broadcast cam when pitching and I see it every time. Hopefully they can fix this with a patch since it is very noticeable.

See it every time. (except cpu vs cpu)
My theory:
The engine can't handle the graphics. In CPU vs CPU games, we get the right resolution, the way it's meant to be. However, with a higher resolution, the framerate is subpar. Just like it happens with cutscenes.
Now, I don't mean to make accusations but it looks as though the devs chose to make a compromise in leaving the resolution untouched until the pitch is selected and letting it drop once there is button feedback. Not the most elegant solution, if you ask me but the game would be unplayable if the framerate dropped as badly as it does with cpu games. If I had one question to ask the devs, this would be it.
Is it a gamebreaker? Not for me, fortunately. I am enjoying this year's game more than any other iteration in recent memory. However, I could imagine that if some of the issues we see on The Show were on a AAA release with a wider audience, gaming websites wouldn't be as forgiving.

I see it all the time when pitching from the broadcast camera. Everything is fine during warm up, and when I pause, then un-pause. Once I unpause, its good for maybe a pitch or two, then its back.

I have tried nearly every ball park, every mode and its there, no matter the team, uniform, pitcher etc. On my smaller tv its slightly noticeable, but when I transfer over the settings from one Vizio to the next its obviously horrible due to size, missing settings due to model difference etc.

A patch would be nice, but its more of an eye sore then anything.

I think this will get patched. I don't know if you guys remember but there was a much much worse graphic glitch last year and they fixed it. Last year and it happened a lot you would see players faces go completely black and you would see this really odd thing with pitchers where some times there face would have a lot of black dots on it almost like they had ants all over them lol.

I'm definitely seeing these issues as well, not so much of the grass changing but when I select a pitch a chunk gets taken out of the pitcher, catcher and batter's (undershirt) sleeves. Like a few have said, its more noticeable during day games. This happens every game at GABP from a catcher view and pitcher view. Just wanted to bring this up since a patch is due out soon, hopefully this can be fixed.

I noticed this as well today while playing a day game at Busch Stadium, but didn't realize it didn't appear until I had selected a pitch.
