Does any one fell like the CPU is to aggressive with trying to take extra bases?
Does any one fell like the CPU is to aggressive with trying to take extra bases? I have already thrown out a lot of guys trying to take extra bases in only like 5 games and it sure fells like the CPU tries to get extra base to much when they have no changes and really shouldn't. For example last game I am up 1-0 CPU has a guy at first 1 out they hit a ball between the short stop and 3erd base and instead of stopping like they should and having 1st and second with 1 out there guy tries to get to 3erd and is out by like 30 feet. In real life the only way they would have tried that at all would be if it was on a hit and run. I have also had the CPU do something similar on a play at home once before this year.Tags: None -

It was a problem for me within RTTS last year for sure, haven't played much RTTS yet this year because I'm waiting for SCEA to fix the Y2Y import problem of players missing. Having played a bunch of exhibition games I have seen some aggressive cpu baserunning, but not as much as in RTTS last year. I have thrown a couple players out at home and 3rd base in about 10 games or so.

I've seen both sides of it
There were times I felt they should try to take the extra base and times they've tried and gotten hosed
I see a variety, non-issue for me in my admitted limited playing time (15 games)SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

I don't really play RTTS. I am a franchise guy and right now I am playing exhibition games while I get my sliders and settings set and I have only played 5 games. The fact I have only played 5 games and have already thrown out sever guys I fell like is a bad sing and like I said I had the CPU try for 3erd on a play in a big situation where in real life they wouldn't have tried that in a million years. It was such a bad decision that if it was real life the player would have probably gotten bench for trying that.Comment

Re: Does any one fell like the CPU is to aggressive with trying to take extra bases?
I'm glad you made this thread cause yes I feel like the CPU is too aggressive with extra bases but also stealing bases on non-steal occasions. I'll give you an example.
I'm pitching with the CPU having a player on 1st. The CPU batter hits a ball through the gap and gets a base hit. But, if I don't throw the ball right away to either my cutoff man or the SS then the guy on 2nd will immediately run for 3rd and try to steal it. Completely unrealistic. And because I wasn't expecting it he made it to 3rd. It was such a fluke play and it felt like I was playing online against a real player because its something a real person would do to try to cheese.
Not sure if I explained it well, but yes the CPU is very aggressive on the bases. Also the CPU is way too aggressive with the suicides. A lot of times I have to use a bunting defense now to prevent the suicides. Its dumb.Comment

I have heard people talking about the suicide squeeze but I have not seen a single one odd that my game is playing different when it comes to that. So far I am seeing 2 game play problems. 1. The CPU trying to take extra bases when they shouldn't and 2. The CPU trying to bunt to much. I haven't seen the CPU try to bunt in crazy situations like people are saying. I have basically only had the CPU try to bunt with no one on it just fells like the CPU tries to bunt to much. I hope a patch can fix both of these things.Comment

I've seen two suicide squeezes through 10 games, but I've really only had a opportunity for it to exist in a couple games. Anyway the two I saw were in the same at-bat. Totally took me by surprise in the first attempt but the ball went foul. They tried it again on the next pitch and I was ready for it and nailed the runner at home.

I use auto base running and twice last night in one game Matt Carpenter tried to turn a double into a triple and Yadi tried to score on a double and in both cases they were out by a mile. It was not even close!!
But I also curse trying to control the base runners myself so it is a matter of which makes me curse the least.Comment

This happens a lot to me: Runner on first. I hit a double in the gap and the runner on first automatically tries to score from first no matter what. They are most often times out and I am only credited with a single. Happens far too often.est 1978

Re: Does any one fell like the CPU is to aggressive with trying to take extra bases?
I have seen one squeeze play and the pitcher was up at the time, so no big deal to me. The aggressive baserunning I have not seen at all, except for trying to steal a lot, but I like that. I have never seen a guy try and go first to third on a ball hit to left field. In fact I've seen balls hit to center and they stop at second if it's hit hard and if it's hit soft or the center fielder is playing deep then they go to third. I think baserunning this year has actually been really, really good.Comment

Both sides so I'm fine with that.Comment

The thing is the bunting and the CPU aggressive base running are two things that actually can make you go from winning a game to losing badly.
The suicide squeezes really bother me cause teams don't do them that often. Its almost like playing someone online its so bad.Comment

One slight issue I'm seeing is people being too aggressive trying to score and getting thrown out at the plate very easily. I'm playing with CPU fielding so it's not as if I've been throwing really well.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Both sides here. I rather like that the AI forces you to make a good throw by making those aggressive decisions. I've seen many more throws up the line or off of bases this year, so it might just be the AI testing that oufielder's arm.Comment
