Question on unlocking cards

I've been searching for info online about cards and packs of cards but I can't find any great info. I just have a few questions:

1. What game modes do you need to play to unlock cards?

2. Are the cards that you unlock at the end of games random or do you need to complete certain objectives to receive certain players?

3. Do you win packs randomly or do you need to use stubs strictly to buy packs? It seems to take forever to get 1,000 stubs to even buy 1 pack.

4. How do you actually earn stubs? Are there ways to earn stubs quicker?

1. Any mode. Though Diamond Dynasty does give you an extra card after each game. A screen will pop up with a bunch of cards and each one will disappear until one last card is left. That is the card you get. I've only seen it after Diamond Dynasty games.

2. Random but weighted by card class (I heard you have a .4% chance of getting a Diamond Card), except for Diamond Dynasty vs. CPU where your probability of getting a certain card class depends on the difficulty setting and if you win.

3. You buy packs with stubs. You can purchase stubs with real money (not recommended), sell off cards you don't want or play the community market. My recommendation is to play the Popular Items tab to practice. But like any market, values could tank at any time. I once had 100k worth of buy orders out, and if the market tanked right then and there, I would have been screwed.

You can also get a pack if you log in every day for 9 days, but that's turning into more like every day for 12 days with the way things are going with daily login.

4. In my experience, the best way to get stubs is to buy low and sell high on the community market. Within one week I was able to purchase Mike Trout and claim Rod Carew. It takes some time but I set up my buy/sell orders before games. Once the game was over I would see what the outcome was and go from there.
