    IMPORTANT: Please Read

When starting a thread asking for help, it is imperative that you tell us what method you are using for whatever your asking help for.

    Example:

"I'm struggling with hitting. I can't seem to hit an outside curve with my righthanded batters. Any suggestions"

Great question but without knowing if you are using analog, zone, or whatever there is no help that can be offered.

Obviously we would prefer you use existing threads to ask questions but if you are going to create a thread you MUST include what control scheme you are using or we're just going to close the thread going forward.

We are seeing an abundance of duplicate threads and most of them don't even give enough details for the many people who are more than willing to help do so.

It's really just adding to clutter at this point.

SO please be thourough in any thread you create asking for help.

This goes for ALL aspects of the game but because of previous threads with no info I'm stressing questions on hitting, pitching, baserunning, and fielding (What camera angle?)

    Thank you!!!

Honestly I'd say they need to use the existing Q/A thread.. period.
If not we (as we've already seen) we'll get question after question pushing other threads off page etc...

While I don't disagree there have been some questions asked that do require some back and forth discussion with regards to let's say baseball strategy and if it's even a valid concern.

This isn't really conducive to a single Q&A thread where questions get asked.

To go back to my example in my first post. That's not really a question with a single answer so for the best user experience I don't really mind a thread for discussion on that particular issue.

A question of "Where do I find the setting for x in the menu" I would absolutely agree would belong in that thread.

We also have to deal with the reality that even though you guys do a fantastic job of reporting posts, we're not always around to clean things up. Myself personally can do very little between 8-6 at work during the day (took today and tomorrow off for the Masters

Just trying to help even if just a little bit. Threads are starting to get buried fast.

Maybe you should make a FAQ thread and stickie it. Then the really obscure questions can garner their own thread. Seems like a lot of the threads are questions already answered in previous threads and perhaps this can cut down on a ton of the redundant threads started.

Unfortunately I don't think that would help at all.

Remember the Workaround thread Knight made a couple years ago? Remember all the new threads where the first answer would the URL to Knight's thread?

People don't read that stuff, sadly.

Maybe they need to really enforce the not searching before creating a thread. The forums get pretty cluttered with topics that have already been answered in previous threads often.

It's just not with creating a thread. Go and the closed OSFM thread. The same damn questions were asked every page. This year there were 2 questions, what is the release date? (usually an annual question) and this year the new question became what is the difference between OSFM and the hybrid?

Indeed. Stickies are great to keep them at the top but they barely stop the amount of threads started asking questions that can be answered in those threads.

Am I being hypocritical by starting this thread and hoping it's read? ABSOLUTELY. But trying to do something is better than doing nothing.

I agree with you 100% and my post really isn't directed towards threads with basic questions which you are spot on in saying they should be closed and directed to the Q&A thread.

I feel my post was misunderstood from my poor wording but you had mentioned a stickied FAQ but threads that could be answered in a basic FAQ aren't the kind of threads I'm referencing.

Think of it this way, if you've ever called comcast for help with lets say your router, they have to play to lowest common denominator and basically in a nice way ask you if your an idiot and have you checked to make sure it's plugged in.

I'm trying to cut back on that basic troubleshooting so a thread can have useful discussion and can fall off faster. The more questions that have to be asked to the poster just to gain an understanding of the problem keep it on the front page (clutter) longer.

Again, I'm talking more about questions like "I'm really struggling with baserunning, any tips?"

I don't want that clogging up the q&a thread either so having it's own thread is fine but we need more info than that in order to help out.

And as usual people getting annoyed with the duplicate question cause just as much of an issue than the person asking the question.

It is annoying to see over and over again but it's just as annoying to see smart *** responses to these questions.

Either answer the question or ignore it. No need to troll these people either.

I was telling my brother about this site for years and about Knight's rosters (this was years ago when they truly were just Knights rosters for the most part).

He joined just to ask when they would be available and while I won't deny he could have gone through the thread and should of he was completely bullied and hasn't been back to the site yet.

That's not the kind of behavior we want to be known for.

Yea I always give them answer. And there have been times where I have gotten annoyed in my responses. But that's usually what I do is just give them the answer. But before a release date and the answer I gave was, "I'm not trying to sound like an *** but it will be out when it's out" Because that's answer we were given.

It's annoying for sure but it's not going to stop.

Even if we kept editing the thread title with an "estimated date" the questions wouldn't go away and I also don't think it would behoove the roster makers to even set any tentative date.

I think it should also be highly encouraged to take advantage of the PS4s Share features and capturing so we can see what you're seeing.

Whether it's a bug or assistance needed, it can really speed up the process for everyone as far as getting it figured out.

                          Re: IMPORTANT: Please Read

Can I point out that "IMPORTANT: Please Read" is not a particularly useful thread title when looking to capture a particular audience? You may be more likely to get better adherence with something more specific such as "Please read before asking for help" or "Please Read before Creating a New Post". As it is this sticky creates a new post at the top of the forum worsening the clutter with likely less than optimal results.

Thanks for the feedback and can I point out that I've already addressed that in this thread:
