Web Gems - Defensive plays

    Hi,

How are the spectacular catches and double plays in the game? Is it possible to do the Jim Edmonds catch, the Omar Vizquel & Roberto Alomar double plays, the Andrew Jones over the shoulder catches, etc?

I looked for videos on youtuebs but no body post highlights, it's all about Road to the Show.

I just bought the game but haven't been able to play it at all.

I don't know much about current baseball but I'm trying to get back to it this year.

Please share any videos of great plays if you can.

    Thanks,

PS. If you could also link me to any material about top prospects, great defensive players, other cool stuff. I just feel baseball is not as exciting as before but I want to give it another try until the football season is back.

Not mine, but here's a good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2FNfkf9SJ8

I've performed some web gems in SS this season:
* Barehanded pickup on slow rollers
* Glove scoop to barehanded 2B for double play
* Standing high jump to snag a line drive right above the head (though I didn't bobble it like the video).
* Full body leap to snag a line drive to the hole
* Feet first slide on a hard grounder
* Head first dive
* Jeter cross body throw (though the runner was safe)

I have niticed that if you lower the fielders speed slider from 5 down to 3 it makes for a more exciting outfield with more animations and sliding catches you barely see with the slider at default 5.

I will have to try this. I wish that's something they would focus on, it seems like every play is routine in the Show each year. It would be sweet to see more web gem type plays.

There is a lot of routine plays in this game, but that is baseball. On the other hand I have seen leaping catches by my shortstop on a linedrive, homeruns being robbed, some really great diving catches in the outfield. I like that it is overdone with these things.

Mine are at 0 speed and 0 reaction. Great games so far with a good mix of plays. And no the 0 setting does not make the fielders to slow at all IMO.
Still have plenty of diving catches in OF etc... The game is a dream to play.

Here's one from the other day.

R2 is the dive button so everything will be head first. Those feet first slides you see are not user initiated they are animation driven based on certain situations triggering it.
